Deadman and Thor first appeared together way back in STF #90, an MS Paint cover from 2012, so it was high time to revisit this pairing. Adding in Loki as the villain and Jack Kirby as the artist only sweetens the deal.

Did the King actually draw Deadman? I didn't see any other artist on the list so the answer must be yes...
Anyway, deliciously intriguing pairing - presumably Hela would have to get involved at some stage since Boston Brand must surely be stepping on her Asgardian territory...
I have to pinch myself that there really isn't any story lurking behind this cover!
During the first team up, I thought Deadman taking over Thor just for a lark uncharacteristically irresponsible of him. That is; more typical of Boston Brand when he was alive. But, now, I'm wondering if Loki might have caused the backfired rescue attempt. Perhaps through mind-control amped up by Wundagorian clay!
@Davejonz: ooh! Cosmic catfight between Hela and Rama Kushna? Genius!
excellent use of the “King” Kirby artwork !
i think we could see how this should turn out, But could Boston Brand be able to influence and control a god ?
highly interesting…
@Simon: not a god in the divine sense. Merely an extra-dimensional humanoid whose race was deified by the Earthling culture they emulated.
I do mean to go through this blog and look at all the covers, but I sometimes get distracted and forget to. That's not really too important, but I felt like mentioning it.
This seems like it'd be an interesting story, anyways. A ghost possessing a god...that alone sounds fascinating.
But I just thought of two team-up ideas: Vibe and Hawkeye and Scarlet Witch and Gypsy (or whatever that character's name was). I just feel like those two could have fun team-ups.
@Davejonz Deadman appeared in The Forever People #9 & 10.
Deadman and Deadpool? I double dead dare you.
Emsley Deadpool and deadman have met on the blog
Some more ideas i had: Deadman and Man-Thing, Man-Thing and Solomon Grundy, Doctor Fate and Agatha Harkness, Howard the Duck and The Inferior Five.
It's been so long since I broke open a comic book that I don't even remember whether Loki speaks in Shakespearean English like Thor. Otherwise, this is a great bit of dialogue here.
Here's a team idea: Bouncing Boy, Big Bertha, the Blimp, Volstagg, and Faith. Let's show "Plus-Sized Heroes" some love!
Throw "The Fat Fury" in there, too.
@bob greenwade you could probably add etta candy to the plus sized hero team. And I think they could fight plus sized villains! The Kingpin, Black Mariah (the Luke Cage villain), The Blob, I'm sure there's some DC ones too...
And a bonus weird idea I have now: Bob Hope and Millie the Model! DC did a humour comic about Bob Hope (I tried reading it because I was bored, shockingly isn't too bad, in my opinion), and Marvel did Millie the Model as one of their humour comics (I've never read it, though). So why not combine them?
@Emsley @ Ross: How about Deadman and Judge Dredd vs.Judge Death? With special guest-star Ambush Bug singing "Dreddman! Nanananananana!
Nananananana! Dreddman!"
Shouldn't Kirby's art have been on the all Jacks cover?
The spirit of Boston in Thor? Couldn't recognize the Brand. But as long as he keeps it low-key it'll be o k.
Oh, those unexpected plot twists!
Not to mention, the not-so-unexpected puns.
Yeah! Those puns were highly expected.
SLAP!
OUCH!
I told you not mention them.
well pun-ctuated !
(by the way, ....that was a very handy maneuver)
Like Jedi Master Elvis said to his protocol droid: "10-Q! 10-Q very much."
