The Creeper and Nightcrawler

One of the coolest things about doing this blog is when a creator that has entertained and inspired me chooses to give it a shout out.  I consider this site a tribute to the characters and creators that I love so knowing that I have in some small way given back a little entertainment is great.  The amazing Patrick Zircher (currently illustrating the adventures of Superman in Action Comics) was kind enough to show his support, share some positive tweets about the blog, and even suggest the cool pairing of Creeper and Nightcrawler for today's cover.  Many thanks, Patrick!

That is, indeed, a credit to you, Ross. Especially with yesterday having been the 78th anniversary of Superman's debut on the cover of Action Comics volume 1/issue #1!

I can't wait to see DC revert to the 900's. Because, as far as I'm permanently concerned, the one thousandth issue of the world's first superhero comic will be the _only_ thing worthwhile about DC's "Rebirth."

There was a hint in 'DC Universe: Rebirth #1' itself that they might bring back the JSA -- possibly even without ageing since their 1951 disappearance -- as well...

Creepy-Crawly! Brilliant!

This isn't the first time these two characters have been 'paired'. DC & Marvel's co-published comics line Amalgam featured Nightcreeper as a member of the JLX.

Now that is a great cover of a team-up I'd love to see! I would also like to see a CREEPER and PROWLER team-up. Surprised you haven't done that one yet.

I can't add much more to what the others have already rightfully said, except:

How about about a team-up between, Superman, Cyclops of the X-men and Megaton Man (of Kitchen Sink fame)?

This is a great pairing -- two of my favorite characters from WAAYYYY back!

Also, I remember Patrick Zircher from playing the Champions RPG back in the late 80s/early 90s, where he had a lot of illustrations in the rulebooks.

This team-up seems so obvious in retrospect! Another great job!

Regarding the DC Universe Rebirth, I would like to get excited, but I feel like DC has fooled me one too many times. I just don't believe that they'll restore any of their great past concepts without ruining it with some awful "re-imagining." I hope I'm wrong.

As for Action Comics 1000th issue, that is indeed a milestone. Unfortunately, as far as I'm concerned the last story to feature the original Superman was 1986's "Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow?"

On a happier note, I was very pleased with the first issue of Future Quest.

Oh, wow. I recognize the guns on this cover from the cover of Batman #249, the first Batman comic I ever had.
