Here's another movie crossover that would have blown my young mind. Both franchises dealt with time travel, so who's to say the Man of Steel couldn't run into the original crew of the Enterprise?
Superman previously met captain Kirk on the blog in STF #4049...

That's definitely a valid point, Ross. Just one question, though. Wouldn't Lara, Superman's biological mother, technically be the Ma of Steel?
LOL!
Someday the Enterprise should run into The Legion of Super Heroes, who after all also came from a United Federation of Planets (at least in the older comics).
They did, there was a crossover a few years ago. Not so good, according to the reviews...
Good one!🙂
That is a powerful cover! Love it!
As a kid I'd be willing to pay twice the cover price (but not more) to read this potentially amazing story!
Now all we need is some clever DJ to do a John Williams/Jerry Goldsmith mashup of their respective theme songs.
MA-ma mia!! Follow your heart and believe in the future!!
Superman would need the Enterprise under a red sun!! Spock on Krypton would be interesting, right Carycomic?, if not FASCINATING!!
To paraphrase Groucho Marx: "That is the most logical thing I have ever heard." :-)
Carycomic said: "How very peculiar, Captain. My signature seems to have been absorbed into that black hole we encountered 877 issues ago!"
DC Comics, I understand, was anger with Paramount when Marvel got the Star Trek license. Not because they lost the license but because of the X-Men/ Star Trek crossover. When DC held the license the wanted to do a Superman/Star Trek crossover but Paramount said no.
Carycomic said: Now, that IS illogical! Considering how it was Paramount that distributed the World War II-era theatrical cartoons of Superman, you would think they'd want to capitalize on that nostalgia.
Oh, well. Live long and prosper...and to all a good night!
This just in...The Enterprise has been BOUGHT by an airline company!!!
When asked about it, the reply was: That's the Spirit!!!
You mean, Denny Colt is the new captain?
and a Colt 45
Nicely done. This is in the running for my Top 10 covers of the year. I'm sure the Ma of Steel (whoever she is) would greatly approve!!! Who are the foes? Brainiac & the green skinned Orion women? Mudd & Bizarro? Khan & Grax? Starro & the Tribbles? The Khunds & Klingons? I'm dying to know.
^ Maybe it'd be blue skinned Grax with the blue skinned Andorians. Khan can team up with Luthor.
Mr. Mxyzptlk and the Squire of Gothos?
An Organian with a medical problem caused by a Q and sent to the past!!
The Organians were introduced with the Klingons and responsible for the first non battle with the ufp. and mostly forgotten since Do a good deed and see the appreciation.. H. H. HORSEFEATHERS thru time.
Maybe the Organians foresaw how many races would be imperiled without Jim Kirk's quasi-violations of the Prime Directive (should he get killed in a war between the Feds and Klingons). Probably only half as many as would've died had he not survived that childhood case of Vegan meningitis!
In their initial encounter, I expect there'd be some uneasiness, since the Federation's idea of a "superman" was shaped by the Eugenics Wars.
LHN Good point!
Ross, it's perfect that this is a time travel story for the MA OF STEEL, because ...there is no N in sight!!
Carycomic, 1/2 a cookie now...and ...1/2 a cookie the'N'!!
As John DeLancie once said at a Star Trek convention (while dressed as Elvis): "Than-Q! Than-Q, very much."
Oh, it's Lando Calrissian who'll be skippering it. Thanks. :-)
Now, THERE's a story...Q meets The Organians because of Mr Mxyzptlk!!
Tentative title: "On The Eve of 5D-struction".
If Mr. Mxyzptlk tried to ask Cassandra "Elvira" Patterson out on a date, would that make it a 7D-lightful evening?
the facts of life???
Well the problem with that is the tribbles got hungry and ATE Starro
