Sub Mariner and Aquaman in: "The Poseidon Pact!"

Time for a Golden Age meeting of  the ocean's greatest heroes!

Aquaman and Namor have a bit of history on this blog.  They last met with the Defenders in STF #3927, they were battling Mer-Mutates in STF #2270, tried to avert war in Issue #1105, faced the sea's wrath back in Issue #751 and starred in my very first STF two-parter in Issue #3 and Issue #4.

In DC's Silver Age, Atlantis was already split between Poseidonis and Tritonis. But, here on Earth-STF, Poseidonis represents Aquaman's people, and the other half of Atlantis is the eponymous capital city from antedeluvian times. Even if I'm wrong, though; great blending of the original art work, Ross! :-)

My head-canon is simple: DC Atlanteans worship the Greek god Poseidon, and Marvel Atlanteans worship the Roman god Neptune. It's a religious based schism. It's quite very easily shown in their respective publication histories. Greek gods are more prominent in DC, mainly because of Wonder Woman. There are exceptions like Ares, but Marvel's Ares can simply be called his Roman name, Mars. The Marvel hero is the Roman Hercules, while the DC demigod who r*ped Hippolyta is the Greek Heracles. Need further evidence? Marvel has the Roman god of the underworld, Pluto, as a villain, DC has the Greek god Hades. Even Namor's catchphrase, "Imperius Rex" is Latin, the language of the Romans!!!

I forgot to mention: DC's Captain Marvel's (or Captain Thunder, my preferred name in a shared universe) magic word, SHAZAM, used both Greek and Roman deities, so they are both pantheons exist in the DC Universe already, so why not also in Marvel or a shared universe?
