Batman Vs. The Green Goblin in: "Breaking the Vow!"

 


Norman Osborne enjoys going after a hero mentally as well as physically, so I can see him pulling out all the stops to mess with Brice Wayne's head.  Batman first faced off against The Green Goblin on an MS Paint B&B cover way back in 2011...

In an Elseworld comic, Batman had to kill an alien agent to prevent it from ratting out the Justice League and triggering a retaliation on humans for sparing fugitive heroes.

Now that I see it - The Green Goblin is a perfect foil for Batman, combining the Scarecrow and Joker traits together. Would those two aid our hero in a dire moment, or would they be teaming up against Spider-Man?

Batman certainly know hows to use weapons including guns effectively. He may just be using to shoot the Green Goblin's glider.

Is it the same if Batman uses the gun to kneecap the Green Goblin rather than kill him? Worked for the T-800 in Terminator 2; Judgment Day! Or better yet Batman just shoots Goblin's glider and forcing him to land on the pavement? After all, if he hasn't shot the Joker by now, he's never going to shoot anybody!

In the very early days (1930s-early 40s) Batman used a gun fairly regularly. His specific dislike for them is a more recent development.

I suspect that Batman-STFU has a dislike for guns that isn't quite absolute; he'll use one when he really needs to.

BATMAN IS OVERUSED ON THIS BLOG. IT WOULD'VE BEEN BETTER WITH DUELA DENT FACING OFF AGAINST GG IN 1 OF HER VARIOUS IDENTITIES. THE HARLEQUIN PERHAPS?

Would Greenie be hurt by a bullet? doubt it. Would Bats bother with a gun? no. Why? Too many other better devices. But he ain't gonna waste time and correct Gobby. Tune in for the real story!!

P.S.---that's the real reason this Batman is using a gun. It's Bruce Wayne's identical cousin; Brice Wayne!

Did he, though? Not counting covers and splash panels (which are usually just symbolic), I only know of two stories where Batman actually fired a gun, and both times.it was against inhuman monsters.
