Commissioner Gordon and The Punisher

This is another cover that required a bit of prep work to accomplish.  With only a partial image available, I had to build out the signal and fencing before I could add in the Punisher elements.  Here's a behind the scenes look at the process:

There is great work. The noir feel is growing as Gordon's desperation is swelling as more general public become victims of deadly crimes. What to do, What to do.

I agree; great work here, Ross.

Still, I continue hoping for a future cover where JJJ is complaining to Gordon about using the Spider-Signal!

Doesn't the Punisher hate cops?

Well done, Ross! This is worthy of being the last chapter of a trilogy starting with STF #1068...and continuing with STF #2378.

P.S. @ Bob Greenwade: try STF #3742 @ July 12 of last year.

I have actually thought about something like this. If the Punisher arrived in Gotham while Batman was healing his back or off on some JLA mission, who would the Punisher bump off first. He'd probably clear the guards and staff out of Arkham Asylum and then blow it up. Then head to the Iceberg Lounge to see the Penguin and anyone else who might have mob affiliations. The whole story would be like that one series Marvel did... The Punisher Kills the Marvel Universe. Anyway, this is one of the little story lines that go through my head from time to time.

Or, failing that, how about the Punisher and Gunwitch of the Nocturnals vs. a Black Lantern version of the Comedian (wearing Evil Ernie's ex-sidekick)?

@Cary: Does #2349 fit into that anywhere?

@Anon@5:13: D'oh! Thanks for the reminder! (Though I'd still love to see the Spider-Signal involved in it....)

@BG: only if Castle was investigating what HQ had done with Doc Samson, subsequent to STF #2221, back in May of 2018.

P.S. @ Anon330: "...he was only mostly dead. Which is still slightly alive!"

Hmmm! I just noticed the Punisher Signal. With a little tweaking, that could just as easily be Space Ghost's emblem! Could Frank Castle have a spacefaring descendant?

@Anon1216: it might make an interesting premise for a Space Ghost/Flash Gordon team-up! That's never been done here, yet.

@Anon1031: let's just say he grudgingly tolerates them.
