Red Tornado Vs. Whirlwind
I have to think that Red Tornado will emerge victorious here. Not only does he have the spirit of a Tornado Champion within him, all he has to do is move slightly over to the side - I mean, Whirlwind's helmet may offer protection, but it looks like it severely hampers peripheral vision! It would still be fun to see though!

...you should have added Tasmanian Devil to this one....
another finely crafted composition for our enjoyment....
keep up your great work Ross....
You forget, Ross: in comics, blocking peripheral vision just doesn't happen if the design looks cool! (I think we had this discussion before, re: Deadman.)
Regardless, I agree about this being a great cover... and as for the title, well played!
LOL! This reminds me of a comic insert I once read for a line of then-new toys called "Spinjas."
Well-played, indeed, Ross! :-)
Ah give him a needle and thread - You shall sew what you reap. Henry Pym dealt with this bag of wind and won? Good. Think what he could do as a landscaper. Maytag repair man? Absolutely Fabulous! Spin cycle indeed.
I always thought that Whiplash would have made a great member of the Thunderbolts when that team was being used similar to the Suicide Squad. I think that would have even made a cool movie.

Throw in the Texas Twister for some extra hot air.
Whirlwind's spoked helmet is probably meant to be like that of the Rocketeer. A built-on rudder for better aerodynamic maneuverability.
Looks like Reddy could use some back up from DC’s Samurai and Cyclone!

But if an opponent's fast enough to grab the spokes while Whirlwind is in motion then it's very good leverage for a jerk in the opposite direction to break his neck...
And with that, Red Tornado surprised the hot air bag Whirlwind with an attack by his
hired aid, Bolt. (Bolt is a special effects artist and assassin with a Hi-tech suit that gives the power of teleportation and energy blasts. Formerly up against Blue Devil, he is DC's answer to Mysterio.)
@Simreeve: Why not? The first time I ever heard of Whirlwind, in the early Seventies(in the same Marvel Premiere story arc that introduced Dr. Nemesis and reintroduced Egghead), he was definitely acting like a jerk.
A sexually-obsessed jerk who might as well have called himself "The Wasp Stalker!"
The range of characters mentioned in some of these comments suggest that a team of whirlwind-based heroes or villains might be in order.
(And I'm still holding out a tiny spark of hope for a team with Captain Avenger, the Toxic Avenger, the Crimson Avenger, et al.)
The Windmills it is then.
Their arch-enemy? Tilt Man!
@Carycomic: I thought his arch-enemy was the Pinball Wizard.
Along with Bouncing Boy?
Why not? He and his fans would have a ball!
@Anonymous1011: GROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAN!
Cover of the month!
