Vigilante and Ghost Rider

Ghost Rider is another character that has had multiple big screen attempts by a non-Marvel studio that were not well received.  Will the rights finally revert back as they did with Daredevil?  If so, what path should Marvel take?  The Nicholas Cage versions had some cool visuals but the villains didn't work and the tone was way off.  I'd like to see a darker version, with less humor and less chewing the scenery.  Maybe an animated version, even.

I love it.

Why would the Vigilante want to talk to the Silver Surfer's arch-enemy? Something to do with the murder of Stuff, Senior?

Seriously, though: I found Cage's first Ghost Rider movie and the Affleck version of Daredevil way better than the current FF film. So, there would seem to be a couple exceptions to the general rule about non-Marvel Studio flicks sucking.

I also liked Daredevil, although the current tv series is better, hopefully it comes to dvd soon. The first Ghost Rider movie was pretty good, but the sequel was awful. Somehow I don't see Ghost Rider fitting in with the MCU, but maybe after Dr Strange that might be a way to shoehorn him in there.

It's my understanding that Marvel already has the rights to Ghost Rider back. I'd suggest a Netflix show, since Daredevil was so impressive, but I know budget constraints wouldn't do him justice.

I've yet to see the second Ghost Rider film, though I did enjoy the first one. The straight treatment with occasional quirky humor was a good fit for what was going on in Marvel's cinematic universe at that time. I also appreciated the appearance of the original Ghost Rider, though I would have preferred that it be reserved for a sequel.
