Sgt. Rock and the Human Torch
I loved Robert Kanigher's Sgt. Rock tales, and I have always thought Marvel's wartime era comics were cool, so this is a team up that I would have loved to have seen. Rock's stories usually featured Easy Company up against steep odds and it would be could to see the Torch helping to turn the tide.

Of course this would be the android Human Torch, though I imagine the image you used was Johnny Storm.
This does look like it would be a fascinating "origin story" for yet another version, though -- a "prequel" Human Torch, if you will -- or maybe one of the android's first adventures.
"It was Hammond, Sarge. Corporal John Hammond. But, you knew him better as 'Hotstuff.' "
Where di this image of the Torch come from, Ross? Great work as always! :) -- Gregg
Bob is right, it's a Kirby Johnny image standing in for Jum Hammond. I think it was from the interior of a strange tales issue
I've often wondered if Johnny and Sue might be the grandchildren of U.S. Navy Captain Storm (of Losers fame). Now, you've helped make that possibility even less far-fetched! ;-)
Seriously, though; given the popularity of G.I. Robot and the Creature Commandos, an organic Jim Hammond being used as a model for the android Torch isn't so far-fetched, either.
And of course the Sgt. Rock part is from a DC Comics presents issue,
How about GI Combat/The Haunted Tank Meets Ghost Rider?
(Still waiting on Cheech Wizard vs Howard The Duck and The Puppet Master vs Supercar/Fireball XL5)
Ghost Rider and the Haunted Tank might make for an interesting pair.
Or for more than a pair, try the original Ghost Rider with the Shining Knight, and tack on two others for your own version of the Four Horsemen!
