How differently would the JLA operate if Charles Xavier was running the operation? I would be interesting to read about, at least for an issue.

It would probably be a lot more like the Secret Society of Superheroes elseworld version of the JLA, since Professor X thinks that hiding mutants until society already trusts them is a valid strategy for a superhero team.
Seems almost unnecessary as Martian Manhunter can help coordinate the team via telepathy.
Covers like this are why I come here every day.
It would probably become more like the JLX (Justice League of Xavier). When the X-men were trapped on the original Battleworld, during Secret Wars I (the story arc that first introduced the original Venom symbiote), Prof. X felt no compunction about using his telepathy to keep the mutants in line. And Aquaman was just as heavy-handed with his telepathy while leader of JLDetroit! So, psionic autocracy like that might very well lead to the Justice Leaguers having to take on yet another manifestation of Onslaught.
I think that initial conflict/ confusion would be some good storytelling!!
how about it would have been like when J'onn was keeping everyone connected and able to plan changes as they went along. J'onn is telepathic also remember??
I actually could see this happening, and not necessarily in the forceful way that others are imagining.
"J'Onn J'Onzz! Please... I need your help, and the help of your Justice League colleagues."
"What 'help' could we give you, Professor? And why would we?"
"My students... my X-Men have been abducted."
"Abducted? By whom?"
"Darkseid."
"I will gather the League."
well done. makes a compelling story!
As a sequel to the X-Men / Teen Titans crossover, with Darkseid as the main villain, that Marvel & DC co-produced back in the early 1980s?
A potential "Darkseid vs. Onslaught" clash? Now, that story I would buy in a New Yawk minute for sixty cents!
Excellent cover…
Sort of a mistaken identity slugfest? That's one comic book trope that never seems to grow old.
Agreed. :-)
