Shang-Chi and Judo Master

 Three masters of their disciplines, locked in combat.  Hopefully the illustrator of this issue would be well versed in depicting martial arts action.  I could tell that was the case in some of the Shang-Chi and Iron Fist adventures I've read, and it was always appreciated.

In the immortal words of the bearded animated Aquaman: "Outstanding!"

I eagerly await the day when Shang-Chi teams up with Richard Dragon.

Ross, would you be able to make a group of these specialists or would that be counter productive?

Like a human version of Paws of Fury? Anything is possible.

I would definitely plunk down my 60 cents for this team-up. I always enjoyed the martial arts comics but most of my comic collecting friends didn't consider them to be super-heroes. As for Aquaman from BTBTB, I believe his immortal word was "Outrageous!"

NICE! And speaking of martial arts showdowns; have you ever considered Shang-Chi vs Karate Kid from the Legion of Super-Heroes?

@Ross and Jared: see STF #1700 @ 12/8/2016.

Nice Pairing. The "Sumo Master" on this cover has a comic book name. It's "Mountain Storm". He's one of Judomaster's recurring foes.

While a sumotori's ritual loin cloth was once referred to (allegedly by veteran radio DJ Joey Reynolds) as a "sho-bun."

@Anon434: actually, I think that was Johnny Carson.

Objection! Sumo Master is not using any kind of sumo move on this cover. There are no chop in sumo. Pushing, shoving, and slaps yes, but no chops.

Just like true (aka Greco-Roman) wrestling has no punching and/or kicking (as opposed to "professional" wrestling).

@Carycomic: by George! I think you're right.

@Anon143: Emphasis on the sarcastic quotes!
