I always got a kick out of the team up trope in which heroes swapped villains. Acts of Vengeance was one of my favorite Marvel storylines for that reason back in the day. I saw that the recent DC KO event had some interesting match ups - Did anyone read that and is it or any of its spin offs worth checking out?

Great pairing… and like you, loved the ACTS OF VENGEANCE storylines. Nice job.
I never heard of DCKO till literally this second.* But, I also loved the Acts Of Vengeance story arc. Particularly Dr. Doom vs. the Punisher! But, the super-villain combo you've offered up, this morning, is even more fitting than you might initially have thought.
Electro was born Max Dillon. So who's to say that, in the Ross-verse, he isn't the brother of Roscoe Dillon? Out to avenge The Top's death with the help of fellow Flash-rogue, Leonard Snart!**
*Sounds more like a public service media station.
**Or is this Mirror Master that Glaswegian gallowglass?
It's Max and I like that theory.
@Carycomic: Leonard Snart is Captain Cold. Sam Scudder was the original Mirror Master. And Evan McCulloch is his Scottish Lowlander successor.
I read the main storyline in DCKO, and some other parts (like the Jay Garrick vs. Guy Gardner one-shot. Parts of it were good, but a LOT of it was highly predictable. The end result is that Superman has disappeared from the known universe. Of course, he will show back up again... but it's a way to feed another new storyline.
Oh, and Roscoe Dillon is the Top.
@Ross: the Avenging Angel, yesterday, and the Iceman cometh, today. Does this mean, tomorrow, we can expect to see Hank "The Beast" McCoy teaming up with the Doom Patrol against the Animal/Vegetable/Mineral Man?
I know! He and Max were correctly identified as such under their better-known aliases in my original response. :-|
I don't know about Tobor or Bob Greenwade. But, I'd vote to see such a clash depicted! :-)
I mean, the Doom Patrol haven't met any members of the X-men since March of twelve years ago (@ STF #60)! And AVM's full alias is hyphenated. Not slashed.
This was fun! As to the future, Marvel Girl with the Doom Patrol would have more ommph!!
Especially with her and Rita Farr wearing identical green go-go suits! :-)
Sheesh! Is everybody a grammar-N**i, today? Drink some decaf, people!
I am, once more, begging and pleading with Ross, on bended knee, for the noble Space Canine Patrol Agents to finally make their long overdue appearance on this site; maybe even inducting Lockjaw into their ranks, or being duly deputized by canine Sergeant Kemlo Caesar, from Alan Moore's "Top 10" series...?
How about a mistaken identity slug-fest between them and the Road Rovers? Engineered by the Grandmaster and Catbird (a Larval Earth amalgam of Catwoman and Mockingbird)!
@Carycomic: I don't know. It might be too soon for Ross to use the Grandmaster, again. And it might be easier for him to depict Alley Kat-Abra from the Zoo Crew being mind-controlled by the Scarlet Beetle (disguised as Zatanna's controversial ruby headdress)!
It took me a while to sort through these comments and make full sense of them....
For an X-Men angle, Beast with the Doom Patrol works for me; I think we've already had a team-up between Marvel Girl and Mary Marvel, but another couldn't hurt. And how about Cyclops and Batman vs. Arcade and the Riddler?
And for me, any appearance by the Road Rovers would be a welcome one, though probably the best would be if they were joined by Hong Kong Phooey.
Stray comics-related thought: How different would the comics & books & films about Tarzan have been if the Apes who raised him had been Bonobos? ;)
Great image. Iceman was always a favorite of mine growing up. The newer writers in Marvel seem intent on ruining the character (and many others) though. There is always hope for better writing in the future.
Unrelated to today's cover but Gerry Conway has died. Co-creator of (among others) Firestorm, Power Girl, Jason Todd, and the Punisher. He was obviously an inspiration to STF as he wrote "Superman vs. the Amazing Spider-Man" way back in 1976!
Sad to hear. I am already quite sad today as my cat of 10 years Ace died yesterday after a sudden illness.
Lol! When I was a little kid, those particular simians were called pygmy chimps while "Bonobo" was how I (mis)pronounced a certain kind of Turkish taffy!
RIP, Mr. Conway. You're imaginative brilliance will be sorely missed.
Nothing wrong with hope, Anon1223. It just might be too much to expect!
That's rough. My parents had a red tabby named Cleo that they had to euthanize at the feline old age of 16. Sometimes, she acted a little too much like the queen she was named for! But, she was still a very beloved pet.
Family pets can still be family. Had a street kitten come to me in the rain in 2003. She died in 2022 because of kidneysdespite vet help. Never easy.
I have no children of my own so Ace was my family. My home seems empty now.
P.S. @ Carycomic: actually, the Beast had a solo team-up with the Doom Patrol @ STF #3154 back on 12/1/2020. But, it was against one of the Mark II Sentinels. Not the A-V-M Man!
Oops! Color me embarrassed.
