It's the 15th appearance of STF's greatest villain, Mr. Universe, and it looks like it's time at last to get some much needed back story on this perpetual thorn in the side of our heroes. A Surfer/J'onn J'onzz meeting has been long overdue as well.

Technically, the Silver Surfer is not the last of his kind; his original race was spared by Galactus in return for assuming the mantle of the Silver Surfer.
Unfortunately, due to yet another massive retcon by Marvel, roughly a year after the creation of their "8th" Cosmos, Zenn-La has been destroyed (for a 4th time!!!). The result of a cosmically over-enhanced Shalla Bal trying to turn literally every planet in the universe into a duplicate of Zenn-La. Compelling Silver Surfer to cosmically erase her (and the rest of Zenn-Lavian civilization) from history.
But, don't worry! I'm sure that erasure will be about as permanent as Bucky Barnes' post-World War II death.
That image of Mr. Universe looks familiar. Nuklo, from his first appearance in Giant-Size Avengers #1?
It's never someone utterly useless, like (oh, say) Razorback who's The Last of His Kind, is it...? ;)
Good Eye, Alaric!
Every time I see Mr. Universe, I think, "Lord Nebula? Are we finally getting Captain Simian and the Space Monkeys?"
Though I think the Space Monkeys would be more likely to make their debut visiting the Planet of the Apes.
And the shadows from Norrin Radd's legs initially made me think he was the Black Racer!
what a story this is to be. then, Mr Universe encounters Capt Universe!! What a Universe!!
It was my first Avengers comic, so some of the images are burned into my memory.
But, that raises the question: "Who" will get the Uni-power? Hopefully, it won't take much "time" for Ross to give us the answer. ;-)
Well, Cary, now I'm imagining a figure in that Captain Universe uniform, with the addition of an 18-foot scarf.
Super-LOL!
I'd be in favor of a rematch between the Surfer and the Black Racer.
Or visiting an octopus' garden with the Sea Monkeys.
Not if he and Taryn O'Connell finally became parents after that She-Hulk/U.S. One story arc.
Well, I know were not getting the Nebula Man (whom DC ret-conned into their version of the eventual Ninth Cosmos) of 7 Soldiers' fame.
