Starhawk and Green Lantern

I never quite understood Starhawks's costume.  I mean, It looked cool, but I didn't get how that odd cape/wing hybrid design was supposed to work, it seemed awkward that it was connected to the boots.  That headpiece must have made it tough going through doorways as well.

Maybe it was supposed to be some kind of bio-psionic version of a solar sail. Able to gather ambient photons in outer space and psychokinetically convert them into tachyons (for FTL space flight)!

The costume worked - BECAUSE! Comics! Ha!

Maybe the headgear was ethereal in nature and thus never got in the way. What use it was for, if any, I could not say though.

According to Marvel Database, the membrane/cape/whatever was used to collect and mingle photons and anti-gravitons for flying through space unaided (similar to GL's, I guess). So, maybe Carycomic was half-right...

...for once. ;-D

I don't know about the cape/wing, but that purple costume calls out for teaming him with The Phantom.

This blog is just screaming for an Edna Mode-led tour de farce through questionable costume choices. Other candidates could include Wonder Man, Tyroc, Spawn, and the Sixth Doctor.

It's blue-and-gold, actually.

Whereas Lee Falk's Phantom would match much more nicely with Zen the Intergalactic Ninja!

Or the 3rd Doctor (who always said "yes!" to wearing a cape).
