Justice League of America Vs. Marvel Villains

For this Anniversary Issues, I thought I would go for a full issue throwdown between DC's brightest and Marvel's most vile.  You see the match ups here - do the world's greatest super-heroes stand a chance?

Terrific cover! Great work.
My favourite section is Thanos and the boat. I'll bet he's making them all sing - "Row, row, row your boat." What he doesn't know is that will bring Kirk, Spock and the Enterprise to the rescue...

Kanjar Ro will not be happy

If Thanos is the space-galley's new owner, Kanjar Ro is probably not in any condition to be unhappy about anything anymore.

My favorite story, though, would be the Dark Knight vs. the Red Skull. I've been a sucker for such fanfic since the canonical Batman/Cap crossover back in the late Eighties/early Nineties! Congrats on 4600 issues, Ross.

I'm already anticipating what you have in mind for STF #4700! :-)

In REAL comic books there was an off-canon crossover where Captain America and Batman teamed up to battle Red Skull and Joker.

That's the one I was referencing! :-)

DOOM is missing! DOOM will not be pleased!

So, what else is new?

What makes this extra special for.me is that some of the stories take place early on in the heroes lives without all their experiences to draw on. Flash vs Death is perfect. Wish there were more team stories, even in pairs as originally done. Superman vs Kang/time will depend on how powerful he is then. Atom may have the 'short straw'.

Congratulations Ross for a very SPECIAL cover celebration!!

Yeah; the world's smallest bonobo (aka "pygmy chimp").

This is cool! I could see each of these heroes rising to the occasion to overcome the villains, both in the solo adventures and in the group story vs. Thanos.

I don't quite recognize the woman Hawkgirl's battling, though. Going by the Labels, I gather she's Moonstone, but I don't know much about her. She looks like she might be interesting to put up against Dr. Light (the Japanese woman).

My thought is "I Dreamed I Was on a Boat to Heaven," the showstopper by Stubbie Kaye in "Guys and Dolls."

Since the Flash already appears in the boat adventure, it'd would've been nice to see JLAer Zatanna (or even Wonder Woman or Vixen) go up against Hela in the above right story.

Not so perfect for Hela if she winds up facing the Black Flash (Speed Force equivalent of the New Gods' Black Racer)!

Carycomic said...

Who's to say that that wasn't Zatanna--mystically disguised as the Flash--confronting Hela?

This is cool but am i the only one who thinks that Moonstone helmet is inspired by Ultraman?

She started out as Dr. Karla Sofen, a criminiogical psychiatrist. She became the new Moonstone after stealing the eponymous alien gem that had literally empowered her male namesake/predecessor.*

*A super-villain during Steve Rogers' brief tenure as the original Nomad. With the alien gem in question later being revealed as part of a vast collection of such crystals that had somehow crashed to Earth in ancient times. Google Marvel Database for further details on the Blue Diamond and the original Basilisk.

Apparently. :-)
