Wonder Woman Vs. Taskmaster

Taskmaster is a favorite Marvel villain of mine.  It's too bad that the interpretation of the character was somewhat off in Black Widow.  Marvel will get another chance when the villain appears in Thunderbolts*.  Let's hope this second outing is a bit more effective.

Well, Marvel Comics had two other people pose as Hobgoblin (a brainwashed Ned Leeds and J.P. "Jack O'Lantern" Macendale) before they finally established Roderick Kingsley as the primary culprit. I don't think Marvel Films incapable of doing any less with regard to recycling the holder of the Taskmaster identity. Unwilling? Perhaps. But, unable; not so much.

Taskmaster is toast!

Taskmaster has several advantages in the fighting style as he has captain America and others, but against the pure power of Princess Diana yup it’s good night…

Comment Deleted couldn't have said Now, Wonder Woman is as fast and strong as Superman. Taskmaster can copy Thor's moves but how long does he expect to bounce around? Diana and Thor could use him as a ping pong ball.

Yeah, I agree that, in this confrontation, Taskmaster's abilities would make him a bit of a challenge for Diana -- he likely still has moves from his previous encounters with Batman, Nightwing, the Creeper, and Deathstroke -- but in the end her superhuman speed and agility would let her wipe the floor with him.

(It'd be interesting to see him up against Karate Kid!)

As for them making Taskmaster a legacy name, so far Marvel Studios hasn't shied away from that in general, but so far it's only been done with successors who have existed in the comics: Black Widow, Hawkeye, and Captain America (and arguably Captain Marvel). On the other hand, the MCU's Scarlet Scarab was retroactively given a comics counterpart, so who knows?

Centuries of training? She sure looks good to be hundreds and hundreds of years old. I never can remember if that's the case in the comics, if she herself is that old, or just her tribe is. I've only seen a couple of versions of her origin story, and that's been a while now.

Taskmaster can copy her moves, alright. But, it's been firmly established from his debut that he cannot duplicate superhuman abilities (like her Hermetic super-speed). Which makes me wonder how the otherwise identically-attired Prowler would do against the Global Guardian called Jack O' Lantern.

Task, task, task. What would Taskmaster be like with watching movements of Dr Strange? could he pick up anything ? Would it inspire him to learn magic?

He' be able to flawlessly mimic the physical gestures. But, he'd still have to read words of power in a place of power using ritual objects of power. At least according to all those Official Handbooks Of The Marvel Universe.

I can't recall Tasky ever getting any swimming abilities so maybe he should run into the Aqua-Family at some point. He's seems tailor made for a Forgotten Heroes opponent with all of their natural abilities (Cave Carson, Rick Flag, Dane Dorrance, etc.).

Karate Kid (mentioned above) would be a great foe for him too. Possible allies include Dr. Destiny or even Skeletor based on his Skull mask/blue outfit alone (or make him the new leader of S.K.U.L.L. who goes after the Thorn).

Glorious Godrey's vocal powers are out for him but Bill Clinton's natural charisma could make him a future prez candidate ala Lex Luthor. Maybe run against a "reformed" Kingpin for something unique.

The Super Friends had a recurring foe named Menagerie Man (later Menagerie Master) who could naturally control animals so that might be a possible team-up in the future. I couldn't guess what heroes they could try to attack with a zoo filled adventure. The Zoo Crew perhaps?

Along those lines, I think Animal Man could give Taskmaster a special kind of trouble.
