Superboy Vs. Ultron

This is another cover which required a bit of background tweaking and rebuilding prior to adding in any new elements.  Here is a look at the behind the scenes process:

"An Aqualad mini-epic!"? Let me guess; he goes after the Death-dealer From the Depths all by himself. Necessitating the founding of the Agents of the Abyss!*

*Sorry, Ross. But, let's face it. That is, by far, your most brilliant mentioned-only brainchild here in the universe we've named after you. The anticipation of his actual debut appearance increasingly mounts, everyday.

Of course, maybe I'm laying it on too thick. But, ask any of the others whether or not my underlying point is still on target.

Cary, you may see parts of the death dealer on cuture covers, but he may be just too massive to show whole.

Same plot as the original cover, but with a different villain... and I think that, with Ultron, the STF version of the tale would be considerably more exciting. Clark might have roughed up the original villain (whom I don't recognize) a bit, but he might just tear Ultron to pieces -- though Ultron's tough enough that the fight would take at least five pages.

The Melter vs The Metal Men! Honestly, the Melter vs any hero with metal powers would be nice. The melter may be obscure, but there's potential with him!

@Ross: oh, yeah! Like those Lovecraftian-esque Titans from some of the more D&D-style rpg's. Thanks for the clarification. :-)

@Bob, who was that maskless man? That was The Kryptonite Kid!
It's great seeing the original Superboy, from Curt Swan or not.

It's remarkable how much of a difference is made by altering the background to make it Space. Airless for a robot, it could be anywhere. Very nicely done, Ross.

The Wicked Witch of The West teams up with Heat Wave & the Melter to prevent herself from melting down ever again!!!

How about Wicked Witch of the West vs. Federal Agent Jim West (from the original WILD WILD WEST).?

What about the Wicked Witch of the West vs. Jim West of the old TV show, THE WILD WILD WEST?

I'd buy that for 60 cents! :-D
