When I was a kid, The Silver Surfer's appearances were all based around him trying to escape Earth's atmosphere. He eventually was able to do so, but perhaps he would have found his space-faring Freedom a lot sooner if he had called on the assistance of master escape artist Scott Free.

Their coming together long before "Superman vs. the Amazing Spider-Man" (Apr. 1972) would've been a miracle, indeed. Perhaps, if they had caught a certain Kansas twister, they both might've escaped reality a lot sooner.
oh this is so Good…
would be on the top of my reading pile for that week…
I read the old 60s Silver Surfer comics recently. I loved them, honestly. I liked the philosophy of it, and found the earth setting incredibly compelling. I kind of wish Silver Surfer had more earthbound stories, honestly. They're some of his best stories, for me.
And I still think Silver Surfer and Martian Manhunter deserve a team-up. I know I'm beating a dead horse bringing it up, but i love both characters! I can't help but promote my desire to see them together!
"Escaping Reality!" Love that title! I think we've all been there, if we're not there right now!
Said the kid reading comics to the adult asking "Why do you read that trash?" for stories like these. Reading is great and this makes it all the better!
I echo what Shamus' request. Maybe with Norrin Radd and Jonn Jonzz teaming up against Galactus and Starbreaker ("The Cosmic Vampire")!
As for today's cover; does this mean Scott and the Surfer will be meeting Mickey and Howard from STF #1552?
See Wed. July 13, 2016.
It could've been "Escape To Reality" -- the two comics characters emerging into a photographic city street, complete with live-action civilians.
It'd be almost as much fun as Roger Rabbit coming alongside Michael Keaton's Batman.
I thought that Mister Miracle figure looked familiar - then I realized it was from a commission I had Mike Allred do for me a two years ago! Neat! You did a great job incorporating it with his Silver Surfer!
John that is cool to hear
