Black Widow and Nightshade

Nightshade still has a lot of untapped potential.  She's one of the Charlton characters that DC acquired back in the 80's, and still has not done enough with yet.  I have liked the brief moments where she has shown up and her appearances on various teams over the years - but it would be nice to see her truly get a moment in the spotlight.

The spotlight was probably absorbed by the rest of Dark Matter.

Funny you should mention Dark Matter...I've been wondering if Cloak and Dagger could reunite with Jade and Obsidian in a sequel to STF #899?

The one Charlton Character DC doesn't own might be Peter Cannon, thunderbolt. Anyways, Peter Cannon and Daredevil would make a great companion piece to this cover, in my opinion.

But thinking of some bonus Charlton and Marvel crossovers... Captain America and Captain Atom, maybe? Or Nighthawk and Blue Beetle (Ted Kord)?

@Shamus: Iron Fist meets Peter Cannon would be even better!

I think this is a very fine pairing. That's all I have to say right now.

Enquiring minds want to know, who drew nightshade, it don't look anything like Perez, possibly Hughes?

It is Perez - from the cover of War of the Gods #3

Thank you Ross

She'd actually fit really well with the Birds of Prey... If anyone from DC is reading this right now!

Ross, Why alibi and not warning or alert?? This pair could have growth possibilities.
With Widow's growth, she might give Nightshade a chance. Nightshade would be cautious until Nat shows her otherwise..but possibilities.

@Tobor: I suspect that it's because of the rhyme.

How about a Puma (Marvel), Timber Wolf (DC) and Cougar (Image- he was in Youngblood)… match-up?

I agree Nightshade didn't get enough usage in the years I was reading comics (I don't know about after 2007). I liked her in the original run of SUICIDE SQUAD.

Off topic--in the Rossverse, could Kamala Khan be revealed to be the daughter of "Eel" O'Brien (aka Plastic Man)?

Or granddaughter, given that Plas began in the Golden Age?

Typical. Hero knows of a bomb, but not where. Should the hero be trusted? Is it the real character? And where do you put the helicarrier to crash? Decisions decisions.

These two are professionals, but wouldn't necessarily blend that well.

Mr. Horsefeathers is correct. BW's initial distrust would put Nightshade in a bad spot. Speaking of Spot...how about him and Nightshade having a go-round with each other? Guest-starring Spidey!

Mr Anonymous would you be able to bridge the gap between Spot and Nightshade?

C.C. said...

It'd be fun to see Nightshade pop out (like she is on this cover) right next to Oscar the Grouch who pops up out of his trash car all the time.

Maybe The Spot invades Sesame Street?

C.C. said...

^trash car? LOL trash CAN.

Unless you want him to race the Batmobile sometime.

Carycomic said...

Maybe it's a trash can-vertible?

C.C. said...

Ouch CaryComic. I can see that being done too.
