Firestorm first met Jim Hammond way back in STF #585, and I thought it was high time to revisit that pairing. When I saw the chance to make it an all-Alex Ross cover, I was even more inspired.

The "Alex Ross - it looks like a photo" type cover. What a treat.
Let's do the Time Warp again, Firestorm, World's Fair not included (for now).
This is the opener for a grand story. Jim is sent back in stasis rather than being killed. Who, why, and what is the main goal? What a story!!
Great cover. But does this mean that Jim Hammond is revealed as Firestorm's old flame...?
With these two involved, I hope it didn't become the World's Flare.
Ross pastiches Ross. Seems fitting to me! :-)
The only way this might--arguably--be surpassed is if Golden Age Centaur Comics' "Fantoman of the Fair" had guest-starred as a cameo appearance.
A c-ross art special. More than fare. Maybe use The World is Not Enough as a Torch song? They know how to heat. They already have Bonds of Steele and Pierced the time barrier.
When the World's Fair but the HEAT IS ON, what's yellow and read all over? 4-2-9-0
@Crazy Ivan: no, I think Flare already has something going on with Lady Arcane over @ the League of Champions.
@Anon722: are you asking if everyone loves Ronnie Raymond? ;-)
@Horace Feathers: are you hinting that Cliff Steele might now be a Bondsman?
For some reason, when I first saw the names, I was thinking Wildfire and the Human Torch, maybe I just haven't been awake long enough... but then again, that could also make for an interesting team-up, couldn't it? One used to be human, the other only ever an android, could make for some deep interactions.
@Anon1034: Brosnan. Pierce Brosnan, not even shaken but Steele Hanging in There.
I would never leave it on a Cliff Hanger.
Oh! Believe me. I wasn't trying to be negative, man.
No prob Chief.
Having seen Season 2 of Loki, I had flashes of expecting the World's Fair mention to give us a Timely connection.
Speaking of whom, I don't think we've seen much of Kang the Conqueror's "other personas" around here, have we? Cyborg vs. the Scarlet Centurion or Booster Gold meeting Pharaoh Rama-Tut might be interesting.
when the captain America movie came out and we saw the glass tube which every marvel fan knew was the Original Human Torch and the disappointment of that being it’s only appearance, this almost makes up for it… Thank You !
What Simon said. :-)
P.S.---How about someday Jim Hammond meets Hector Hammond? Alongside Hal Jordan, of course!
