The Marvel Universe has some truly powerful and mind blowing characters - Galactus, The Supreme Intelligence and so on. I think one of the most amazing concepts has to be Eternity. The leader of the abstract entities known as the Cosmic Powers of the Marvel Universe is basically the living embodiment of all that exists. That something so great in scale could actually have conversations and interact with other characters always seemed a little far fetched and crazy - in a good way! When comics think big, they think really big, and this is one part of the MCU that I always thought was cool, even if it didn't make a lot of sense to me.

Matter of perspective I guess. Think of a human as 'the universe' and amebas as galaxies. Stuff still smaller than that in us. They become planets and atoms become life forms. Read enough sci-fi and it doesn't seem as impossible as it would have. If we could go from Kitty Hawk to the moon in less than seventy years, there is something almost unreal about that too.
As usual, seeing the classic Legion in new usages is still a thrill. Great idea.
No more far-fetched than one-time 7 Soldiers foe, the Nebula Man, being promoted to embodiment of the next DC Universe. Come to thing of it; wouldn't that be something fitting for your 3400th issue?
Eternity vs. The Nebula Man!!
That would be some "think," alright. ;-D
Appropriately, you picked the "Reboot" Legion from Universe 247--the one which lost its Universe. ^_^
Why do all these cosmic entities always look roughly humanoid (2 legs, 2 arms, two eyes, etc).
Shouldn't some cosmic entities look more alien? Or is their form perceived differently by each viewer?
Most of the Legion also look very human.
@Social, not anymore. Current rebooted version have them looking lot less of earth stock than ever.
@Ross consider Kang sending the LoSH after the Squadron Supreme. You're doing wonders with crowds.
@SJW: blame Steve Ditko.
Well, either him or Peter Gabriel.
It seems reasonable to me that a "personification" would appear in the general form of the species of the observer. Since most comic book readers are human, they'd appear in human form.
Kid Eternity "...Dad?" :) :) :)
I think the post Crisis Green Lantern Corps (Hal, John, Asria, Katma, Kilowog, Salaak, and Ch'p) would pair nicely with the Guardians of the Galaxy line-up from the movie. I imagine the Guardians of the Universe would be referenced even though they weren't around at the time of that GLC.
Remember when Eternity met Kismet, personification of the [main] DC Universe, during the published Avengers/JLA crossover? Force into verry close proximity to each other when their universes were being merged, they were obviously rather disappointed when this situation was ended with the restoration of normality.
One thing in particular about these characters that I think never got clarified was how they related to the two 'Brothers' -- one personifying each of the universes/multiverses involved -- seen in the 'DC vs Marvel'/'Marvel vs DC'/'Access'/'Amalgam'/'Unlimited Access' mess. Any answers?

"I am not programmed to respond in that area."
Hey! That's an idea.
Harcourt Fenton Mudd plaguing the "Star Trek Reboot-verse!"
@SJW et al., there was a Galactus story in the 80s --- the Trial of Galactus? --- where John Byrne said that Galactus appeared differently to each of the species present, and there was a whole page taken up by little portraits of how non-humans saw him.
And, of course, we know that all inhabitants of the FF:Rise of the Silver Surfer-verse see Galactus as an interstellar smog bank.
;-)
that's why there was a foggy day in London Town?
Then how about Galactus meets Mr Mxyzptlk?
@Genie's Diner: why not? Eternity could introduce them, seeing as Mxy's been his publicist since STF #2308.
Don't kid Eternity.
Wham-bam-thank you, Shazam!
Oh my goodness... what if Eternity was Kid Eternity's father? Mxyzptlk, as Eternity's publicist, would be scrambling to keep that scandal out of the newspapers....
And there, Bob, is another “I can’t believe it hasn’t been on the blog” match. Eternity and Kid Eternity. Ross, PLEASE add this to your ideas list.
@Bob and Anonymous: maybe he can work on it for Father's Day 2022.
"How do I even know you're my son? Did I take some kind of Eternity test?
Kid Eternity: "Yes or no! Did you have reproductive relations with the Abstract Entity now known as 'Mama Kushna?' "
@Cary and my namesake: *Grooooooooooooooooooooooooan!*
P.S. @ Ross: Hasn't Void become the DC version of Oblivion now that the Wildstorm Universe is part of the DC multiverse?
