All-Star Squadron and Thunderbolts

Here are two teams perfect for a streaming series treatment.  Sure, I'd love to see both on the big screen, but they probably aren't considered high profile enough to get that chance.  The stories of second string heroes having to protect the home front during wartime or a group of villains masquerading as heroes and the effect that has on them have a lot of potential.  I can see both having success in a long form serial format.

If you could just persuade George Perez to come out of retirement and illustrate this story, and Kurt Busiek to do the script, I might restart buying new comics...

This is One I'd love to write, being these are two of my favorite teams of all times in the comics. Not sure how/why the 'Mcuffin' yet, but this would be a remarkable X-Over

There are rumors of a Thunderbolts project being built up at Marvel; certainly several members have shown up, and apparently Gen. Ross has a mid-credits scene in Black Widow. It would be a great way to give redemption stories to some characters, particularly Hellcat and Diamondback.

Alas, no such rumors are in play with the All-Star Squadron -- not even for a cameo in Crisis on Infinite Earths or an episode of The Flash (on an alternate Earth) or Legends of Tomorrow. That's too bad; I'd love to see Johnny Quick, Liberty Belle, Robotman I, and Firebrand II (to name just the ones here on this page) in live action.

?George say he's not in good enough health anymore? After med problems took Dave Cockrum the comic industry better rethink how it's treating its talent.

Since that cat fur was just about noticeable, guess Felix had to take a powder when everyone showed. Don't get a jolt from the Thunderbolts.

I'd rather see them in a made-for-DVD animated feature.

Postscript @Anonymous 2nd-from-the-top: I suspect a team-up between Per Degaton and Mandrill. The latter using his pheromones to mind-control Catwoman who then uses her feminine wiles...to steal FTC's Bag of Tricks.

Happy 100th anniversary, Felix! :-)

is that the 1940s Robotman in the A.S.S.group?

@Horsefeathers: you are correct.

Give this man a naturally-sweetened candy cigarette.

@Horsefeathers: as Cary said, yes. The premise of the All-Star Squadron was that it was the war-time group for all of the heroes who weren't in the Justice Society of America. Or the Justice Battalion, as they were sometimes called during the war. They spent a lot of time in space then, to explain why they weren't over in Europe. Roy Thomas later retconned that it was Hitler having the Spear of Destiny that kept them out (more or less, its complicated).

@Carycomic, I'll take a Sunkist candy cigarette Anytime. thanks.

@Jay Johnson, Magic of the Spear put a fence around the bad guys that neither Superman nor the Spectre could breach. Roy did it nicely - just as nice as Superman's entrance into the story.

How about Cyclops, Megaton Man, and Dr. Solar (Man of the Atom) trying to recruit the Golden Age Comet (from MLJ/Archie) as the newest member of...The Super-Visors?
