I remember the first time I saw Art Adams artwork, on a Marvel Team-Up cover featuring that title's first appearance of the black costume. It made an instant impression on me, and when I saw his highly detailed and energetic interiors shortly after in the Longshot mini-series and elsewhere I became an instant fan. Monkeyman and O'Brien really shows off his talents well, with stories that feature beautiful women, gorillas, monsters, aliens and a true sense of fun.

congorilla and monkeyman and obrian or angel and ape with monkeyman and o brian
Speaking of "a true sense of fun", I'd say that this cover has that in spades. I only wish that somehow Chance Falconer of Leave It To Chance could join in on the fun.
I liked that Team Up cover too, but I think Mignola's inks were too heavy for Adams' fine lines
I did not get to read Monkeyman & O'Brien but if Marvel would team their characters with Dark Horse like DC did then this could be a reality. Dark Horse and DC need to start the team-ups again.
I wonder what would happen if Monkeyman & O'Brian met Spider-Monkey (from Marvel Ape Earth)?
I can legit see this happening, and indeed MUST happen, if only in fan-fiction, thanks to years of enjoying Marvel Team-Up.
Sweet cover.
The name "Monkeyman" for a gorilla-like character reminds me of the video-game based cartoon "Donkey Kong Jr.", where the titular character a young gorilla has a catch phrase "Monkey Muscle!
@Anonymous: I'm reminded of when Cary Hiroyuki-Tagawa tells Matt Damon (in Tim Burton's POTA): "I am an ape! Monkeys have tails. Making them just one step above humans on the evolutionary ladder."
@Cary: if the General had said that in front of Hit Monkey, he'd have wound up with a bullet right between his simian eyes! ;-)
Btw: is Art Adams any relation to the late, great Neal Adams?
Been waiting for another Monkeyman & O'Brien since the Angel and the Ape team up (who I have also been waiting for).
Maybe we could have Monkeyman and the Ape on Planet of the Apes saving O'Brien and the Angel from Apes cage(s).
