James Bond and The Black Widow
I caught the second half of Goldfinger the other day, and thoroughly enjoyed it. The special effects may not be up to today's standards, but Connery's charisma is more than enough to overcome that shortcoming. I've enjoyed movies with the Bonds that followed him, but in my mind, he is still the one true 007.

My parents' first date was dinner and Dr. No.
Connery is my favorite. The rest are all cos-players - HA!
However, On Her Majesty's Secret Service holds up pretty well...
This is great! I could almost see this as a two or three part story that brings in some of the agents of Mission Impossible. I'm talking about Jim Phelps, Barney Collier, Willy Armitage, Cinnamon Carter and Rollin Hand.
On another note, yesterday Simreeve asked about my familiarity with Milestone Comics. I am not familiar with that. Perhaps I am familiar with some characters, if I knew which characters appeared there who ultimately assimilated into the DC Universe.
To Bob Greewade: Thank you for reaching out to me about the comic publication. I will keep that in mind and may be reaching back out to you.
Careful, 007! You know what black widows do to their male partners after making love.
moore bond please.....roger moore....who else???....lol....nuff said!!!!
@Ross and my namesake: how about a more realistic compromise?
ITC presents: Sean Connery as 007 meets Roger Moore as...Simon "The Saint" Templar.
"Doot-doot-doot-doot-doot! DOOT!"
Mentioning the Saint gave me an idea: have you ever teamed Marvel's Angel with DC's Demon?
Also, there's a guy on YouTube who goes by the name Goldentusk, who does parody videos by adding words to purely instrumental movie themes. He did a great job with the 007 theme here.
Yes, that one is on here, Bob.
You need to do a James Bond meets Jon Sable, Freelance. Mike Grell worked on both characters and described Sable as "James Bond meets Mike Hammer."
You're far from the only one who thinks Connery was "the" James Bond. Roger Moore told a story -- I'm working from memory here -- about how in the '70s, when his daughter was a little girl, she walked up to him and asked if he'd ever met James Bond. "But honey," he replied, "I'm James Bond." And she answered "No, the real James Bond. Sean Connery."
There was an episode of The Saint, "Luella," where a woman mistakes Simon Templar for James Bond. And David Hedison was in that episode, as well as in Moore's first Bond movie, Live and Let Die, nine years later.
...what if Sean Connery's James Bond reveal he is currently known as "James 007 Bond" but was previously known as Ramariez from the "Highlander"....
..."James 007 Bond" is the job title and is passed from agent to agent as needed/required...
...this would explaine the new faces with the same name...
...Simon Templar (Roger Moore) is just a newer agent assuming the job.... this would also explain why Connery came back to the job and also the whole "On Her Majestry's Secret Service" scenarioscenario....
...thoughts please...
and Ross could you do a cover in any way???
@Jackel: so, basically, the job title passed to Timothy Dalton after the Blue-ringed Octopussy Cult caught up to RM at Stacy Sutton's house and permanently abducted him?
Makes me wonder if Desmond "Q" Llewellyn retired to that part of India after being succeeded by John "R" Cleese?
....or another thought...
what if another Time Lord took to hanging around England and working for the Crown as a secret agent who is licensed to kill....
...and each time he regenerated he became the new James "007" Bond....
from Gene Barry to Sean Connery to Roger Moore to Woody Allan to David Niven to George Lazeby to Pierce Brosnon to Daniel Craig...
and all the other along the way that i forgot to name....
..to George Lazenby to Timothy Dalton...
So, basically, 007 is actually an African-American Martian?
Nick Perks offers an explanation why Bond never gets killed.
