Green Hornet and Green Lantern

The Justice League trailer looked fun, but as I mentioned before, didn't really feel like the League to me without Green Lantern, Superman or The Martian Manhunter.  It's no secret that Superman will be appearing in the film eventually though - and Henry Cavill has been tweeting hints about Green Lantern at least making a cameo as well.  But which Green Lantern?  Some have speculated Hal Jordan (played by Armie Hammer?), but the most popular theory seems to be Abin Sur, beginning the cinematic GL saga anew.  I'm rooting for Chaselon, but nobody consults me about these things.

How about Xax of Xaos? The one Green Lantern who actually _does_ resemble a Green Hornet?

Haha good point.

Where is the Hornet-cycle image from? And is it from something I would want to read (as opposed to something from that god-awful movie)?

@Jay Johnson: it's probably from the Now Comics version of GH (all too briefly published back in the Nineties).

I read the Now Comics stuff. Doesn't look from there. It's probably from the Dynamite Comics Green Hornet that Alex Ross has been doing covers for.

I would rather it be John Stewart rather than Abin Sur. In a perfect world, Justice League would adapt the oversized Liberty & Justice by Paul Dini and Alex Ross, with J'onn J'onzz as the focal point. J'onn opens up a bunch of options as far as disguises that I just don't see Cyborg capable of. That and Cyborg is a Titan.

Yeah, it's from the recent Dynamite series. Which was pretty good. They did a modern Hornet, and also new golden-aged stories, plus Kato had a stand-alone series. And they reprinted a lot of the original GH comics from the 40s. All well worth readings.

Any chance of seeing Katana take on Darth Andeddu?

Or Kamandi vs. the Walking Dead?

Or maybe even both of the above!

In honour of April Fool's Day, today's cover, and Cary's comment today on yesterday's post, W.S. Gilbert of Gilbert and Sullivan fame once wrote this limerick:

There was an old man of St. Bees,
Who was stung in the arm by a wasp

when they asked, "Does it hurt?" He replied, "No, it doesn't,
But I thought all the while 'twas a Hornet

I think this one of my favorite covers and I'd get a poster of it if available.

AirDave, I agree on Cyborg. To me, he'll always be a Titan than a Leaguer.

I like Cary's idea.
