R2D2 Conquers the Daleks
BB-8 was cool and all, but I'm hoping that in Star Wars: Episode VIII, R2D2 will get more to do. With Luke emerging from the shadows, I think that's a safe bet fortunately. I love how the Dalek design on the new Doctor Who episodes have remained so close to their original appearance. Sure they look retro and cheap, but that's always been part of the charm for me.

Speaking of "Doctor Who" I propose a Super-Team with the 6th Doctor and Howard the Duck (with a Frobisher cameo).
I agree with you, whole-heartedly, Ross. And I don't think it's entirely coincidental that R2-D2's design (for the original 1977 Star Wars) is so similar to the Daleks as designed for the original DOCTOR WHO. It's more like the latter inspired the former!
BRILLIANT ish, Ross!!
Love it!!
:-)
Cary - It's entirely possible that there was some influence for R2D2 from the Daleks. Some of Jon Pertwee's stories as the Doctor, including at least one Dalek story, had aired in the United States by the time Star Wars: A New Hope was in development.
Ross - This is indeed a story promising some interesting developments. The question on the cover becomes more pointed when one realizes that, while R2D2 is entirely mechanical, the Daleks are indeed a race of organic creatures inside mechanical shells -- and, at that, creatures with little use for anything non-Dalek.
I saw this shared on Facebook and thought it was real for a second. :)
Very nice! If anyone could take down the Empire, it would be the Daleks!
Y'know, R2D2 would make an almost ideal companion for the Doctor.
BRILLIANT!
I think all your covers are brilliant, but two things. First of all, even a BABY Dalek would kick R2D2's @ss, and sometimes your lettering placement isn't quite right. The word 'conquers' just isn't in the correct place. I've noticed similar problems with a few of your other covers, but that apart, excellent.
