Man-Bat and Scooby-Doo!

Scooby-Doo is the latest film franchise to have a reboot announced.  Warner Brothers has tasked The Newsroom's Randall Green with bringing the members of Mystery Incorporated back to the big screen.  I'm not sure what will be different about this new take, as the earlier films were pretty close translations of the cartoon.  Hopefully the new Scooby will be a little less creepy looking - the CGI they used for him in the first two films wasn't completely effective for me, giving the character kind of a creepy vibe.

What's up with all the reboots? There's no need to reboot Scooby Doo. Just make another movie. It's not rocket science. I get why they're all together - to solve mysteries and have pizza.

This would have been a fun team-up around the time of Man-Bat's debut - Scooby Doo Meets Man-Bat written by Dennis O'Neil with art by Neal Adams! Jinkies!

I'm up for a new Scooby movie, just use that same kid that played Shaggy, he was spot-on!

Matthew Lillard was good in the role, but he's getting a bit old for the part now.

On a side note:

Deepest condolences to the family and friends of Casey Kasem. In addition to all his other show business accomplishments, Mr. Kasem had been the voice of the animated Shaggy Rogers ever since the series premiere of the original "Scooby Doo" series in 1969!

R.I.P, Casey.

When i heard the news about Casey Kasem, I recorded some of the original Scooby Doo episodes on Boomerang and watched them to give Casey a proper send off. I raised a glass to him and thanked him for his contribution to my childhood. To this day, I still use the phrase "Meddling Kids."
