Nova and The Creeper

I recently saw a request to pair these two together due to them having similar last names.  The names are only phonetically the same, but I thought it would still be cool to see them in an adventure side by side. Add in one malicious mechanical menace and a story starts to form...

Isn't that tripedal robot from WONDER WOMAN v.1/#213 (Sept. 1974)?

I already know I'm not a robot. ;-)

Rats! I was hoping to be the first to say that. :-(

Anon, it is, good eye!

C-3leg0?

@Davejonz: I have no idea. You should ask Emmett and Wyldstyle.

I'm thinking that maybe the Robot Raider is somehow connected to yesterday's Mecha-Mammal. Who, from outer space, is known for building a menagerie of robots to carry out his orders? (Hint: I have no idea.)

Silver Age Doom Patrol enemy Garguax is the first one that springs to my mind.

Jack Ryder and Richard Rider COULD be cousins who just choose to spell their names differently.

Nice cover for certain. Nice work, Ross.

A 'RIDER' clause in going after these robots? But of course. Auntie's anti bot league.
The only good bot is one getting its butt booted.

The text of what the robot is saying is extremely hard to read, it is blurry on every device I tried, even when zoomed in. I think that font color with that background color is what is causing the problem, not the font itself.

It's definitely hard to read, but I believe it says

"I have crossed a vast distance to locate the perfect metahuman warriors..."

"...now, return with me to begin a lifetime of servitude!"

"...now, return with me to begin a lifetime of servitude!"

Does it say “resturn?”

Bob Greenwade said...

Indeed it does, Bobbo.

It's an unfortunate choice of typeface. (And of course that never happens in the actual comics industry....)

OK, OK I changed the font...

Much easier to read now. Thank you. (Of course, it looked cooler before, but it's a necessary trade-off, I think.)

Making our host a font of wisdom. ;-)

New group--the Riders? (Riders On The Storm?) These two, Ghost Rider...there are a couple old Western heroes such as The Black Rider and The Red Ryder who could fit too.
