Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny is the latest big budget movie this year to underperform. While it seems to be better regarded than the last Indy outing, I have seen only middling reviews. I am definitely interested in the opening sequence featuring a de-aged Indiana Jones, though. I'll have to check it out when it eventually hits Disney+ and see how it sits with me.

Actually, I've already been to see it twice! It's not bad.* A bit slower-paced, perhaps, due to Harrison's age, But, I think that complements the setting of the story, quite nicely! 1969, roughly one month after Apollo Eleven and at the height of the Vietnam War. So everybody was either looking to the future or concerned about the present. So why concentrate on the ancient past?
*Internationally, it's number one at most box offices!
Has there been a well-performing blockbuster this year?
And... is Namor helping Indy, or getting ready to beat the crap out of him?
Great cover, Ross. Artistically speaking, it's one of your best efforts, in every way that I can think of. A change in price, and the actual comic could've been on the shelves yesterday.
Thanks, Bob! Super Mario Bros. did very well. I wouldn't bet against the new Mission Impossible next week. Namor is Indy's wingman here. Ankle wings, anyway.
Ah! It looks like there was a game, but as Indy gone on a "real" search for Atlantis yet? I don't think Namor would be happy about that.
Would Indy seem like another Captain America, personality wise, to Namor?
As far as movies go, a lot of people just wait to see the movies on tv with movie rentals. Between costs and crowds, the comfort of seeing new movies at home has not diminished.
By the way, that horse looks like it was a photo. Great cover.
@Det. Tobor: I don't think so. I remember an issue of CAPT. AMERICA where Steve Rogers and Bernie Rosenthal went to see ROTLA back when it was still in theaters as a new release. Steve disapproved of Indy's methods (and most of his motives). So, Namor would probably regard Cap as a saint compared to Depression-era Indy!
Speaking of new releases? I still prefer going to see them in the theaters. Preferably, on a weekend afternoon. They take too long to get to pay-per-view on demand. And when they do, the rental fee is the same as an evening showing! As for streaming services? The less I say about them, the better. Especially for Ross (who would otherwise half to erase my ensuing quasi-troll-like critique).

P.S. @ Det. Tobor: HAUNTED MANSION: THE NEEDLESS REMAKE opens today ("sneak" previews, I guess). So, "...Dead Reckoning 1" and "...Dial Of Destiny" might get demoted to second and third place, respectively.
