Static and Spider-Man in: "Along Came Reptilon!"

I quite enjoyed Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.  The animation was just as impressive as it was in the first installment, and even pushed the boundaries a bit more.  The new Spider-Men that were introduced were all entertaining, especially Spider-Punk.  If I have one complaint it is that the film ends abruptly on a cliffhanger - and it will be years before we see it resolved.  Still, well worth checking out.

Static met Peter Parker Spicer-Man in STF #3516...

Another great cover and a cool pairing of these two. Nice job. How about a Dawnstar/Warpath team up? Woul also love to see the Elementals vs the UFoes and maybe Abe Sapien teaming up with Alpha Flights’ Marrina. Thanks for the hard work you put into these daily!!

Remember when Spider-man was unique? It's now just a question of how long before the writers come up with a different version of a new character. (Did the Squadron Supreme ever battle the Sinister Squadron? )

Animated Static was fun...so was his teaming with Batman...but how would he do with Sandman and Hydro-man?
The STF universe can be so much fun in its potentials.

I remember watching the Static cartoon series, as well. My favorite enemies, of his, were the Serpenteens. A street gang mutated into snake-men! As the Kobra Cult had just become bad guys on BATMAN BEYOND, back then, it fired me up into imagining the lead Serpenteen growing up to become Lord Kobra, himself!

In other words; a potential animated series crossover (featuring Before & After Static) that, sadly, never came to pass.

But, an actual animated feature-length video of these two--taking on a reptilian mutate created by Lord Kobra (through coercion of Curt Connors, perhaps)--would be suitable consolation for me.

Way to go, Ross! :-)

The "years" to see the Spider-Verse cliffhanger resolved is actually less than one; Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse is currently slated for next March.

These are two characters that I'd like to see together more, Ross.

@Cary: It's a shame that the Batman Beyond/Spider-Man 2099 team-up never became an ongoing partnership (or rivalry).

@Bob With basically everyone in Hollywood on strike, is that release date likely to stick?

@Ben & Bob: probably not. Even "...Dead Reckoning 2" is more likely to see release no sooner than Xmas 2024.

@Mr. Greenwade: maybe they could be teamed up to rescue Adam Strange and Hank Pym from Queen Atomia of the Microverse (preferably posed a la Star Sapphire from SUPERMAN v.1/#261).

Or, if that's too vintage a reference, a la Star Sapphire @ STF #834!

@Ben: As I understand things, the writing and acting are already done, so for that one I think it's pretty likely to stick. Even if not, it'll probably only delay things for the length of the strike.

I still recall the Major League Baseball Strike from August'94 to April '95. Result: no World Series that year! Now, personally, I didn't mind as I've never been a big baseball fan, anyway. But, it just goes to show you how unpredictably long a strike can get when it comes to haggling over big money.

On a less-downer note; isn't Reptilon the name of the Dinosaucers' home world? If so, could that be Genghis Rex threatening Static and Spider-Miles?

Outstanding.

Whoa! Deja vu.

I can't recall the two Squadrons as such ever meeting, but their two versions of Hyperion did so... and the "Sinister" version, who had been impersonating his heroic counterpart (and romancing Power Princess, after subtly using his powers to kill her husband -- a 'Steve Trevor' equivalent whom she'd met while in a team called 'the Golden Agency' during WW2, who by this stage was very frail due to old age) failed to survive their clash.

Now there's a confrontation I'd LOVE to see depicted here. Wonder Woman vs. Trevor Fitzroy!

@Bob Greenwade: bad news! The release of "...Beyond The Spider-verse" has been pushed back, yet again, due to the strike delaying voice-over recording sessions. March 2024 will see Columbia/Sony releasing "Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire," instead.
