Seven Soldiers of Victory and The Vision

The original Vision from Timely Comics always seemed really cool to me, and I have been meaning to include him for a while.  When I was a kid, I didn't realize that the Avenger's resident Sythezoid had a Golden Age counterpart.  They are quite different characters, but that unique cape design is unmistakable.

A multitude of Visions that react, saying a great deal, but much more to affact.
War is Hell everywhere!

Good old Aarkus! He looks better drawn here than he did during that recent limited series called "Marvels." The one that finally explained where, what, and who Sin-Cong really was. I much prefer the Jack Kirby look! Jonn Jonzz-meets-The Spectre.

Once again, Ross, you've introduced me to a new character that I'd been totally unaware of; I went to look him up. Now I'm wondering if we'll get a hint of him in Avengers: Secret Wars (or maybe even Vision Quest!). And there are many DC (and other) characters with whom he'd make an interesting mix for one reason or another: the Martian Manhunter, GL Hal Jordan, Plastic Man (with Aarkus mistakenly trying to arrest him), Catwoman, the Green Hornet (a hero who poses as a criminal), the LSH (specifically Phantom Girl and/or Princess Projectra)... I wouldn't expect to see this guy very often, but he's certainly welcome here.

PS: I see on the Wikipedia article the character's debut in Marvel Mystery Comics #13, which is what you used here. The other illustration on that page (by Steve Pugh) would looks great opposite the Martian Manhunter.

Just a thought inspired by how often Aarkus has been compared to a nearly similar MLJ character: a WWII team up between Capt. America and Mr. Justice.

The canonical back story for the latter is that he was Prince James of 11-century England. That is, till he was assassinated by the traitorous Rogers Clan of Scotland! I can just see the Red Skull using occult methodology and reverse-psychology to trick Mr. Justice into trying to avenge that assassination with the death of another Rogers Clan descendant. Ross could even call it... "WELCOME TO THE NEIGHBORHOOD!"

Thanks for providing these search links at the bottom of each article, Ross. Because I was going to ask if you had ever arranged a "reunion" Pat and Dumdum Dugan. But, your back links saved me the trouble! :-)
