Superman trusting Charles to go into his mind like that would be something he hadn't done even with the Martian Manhunter. (Have they met?)
Nice to see the notes on this. The chair was a bit out of normal, but we don't know what they had it designed to do.
@Ross: it might very well have been designed as a life-support system. The Prof. X in LOGAN was apparently dying of Alzheimer's Disease. Resulting in unpredictable fits of increasingly uncontrollable and literally over-powering telepathy! So the Reed Richards of DS/MOM might have detected an identical condition in his universe's counterpart of Xavier and invented a high-tech remedy, accordingly.

@Tobor: it depends on whether or not this Xavier is the genuine article. I mean, is he trying to remove a mental block hypnotically implanted in Kal-El's brain by his spaceship's AI en route to Earth? Or is this merely one of Immortus' Space Phantoms trying (for some reason) to trick Superman into believing that he's actually an Earth-born mutant?* ---Carycomic

Personally, I wouldn't start Professor X with the hover chair. Put him in a regular wheelchair at first, and then later on someone (Forge? Beast? Reed Richards? Shuri? Riri Williams?) builds one for him to help him keep up with his students. That will give us, the audience, a better idea about what it's for and why it's as bulky as it is (or isn't).
As for today's story, I focus on the phrase "repressed childhood memories," and realize that Kal-El was send to Earth as an infant. Thus, whatever happened that he's shut away happened after he arrived... but, per the title, it still has something to do with Krypton. I suspect that someone Kryptonian tried to kill him in his preteens, and he returned the favor, accounting for his famous Code Against Killing even though he suppressed the memory of the traumatic event itself. (That's only the basic structure of the tale; I think others may have to fill in details.)
PS: It's been quite a while (2014) since Dark Horse's Ghost has made an appearance here. She's teamed up once with Batman and then once with Deadman, but there are so many good possibilities, from the Shadow to Kitty Pryde to her Marvel namesake. I've even suggested that she join a group with the Shadow, the Phantom, the Spirit, and the Spectre. Is there just a lack of good images to use?
Oi. So maybe Krypton is still out there? Another possibility is that Kal-El was just a "drone" sent by Krypton to keep Earth, and its plethora of superheroes in line. And what kind of mental feedback/backlash would Professor X have to endure through all this? After all this time, that chair should also serve as some sort of personal armored car/escape pod. And perhaps the secret is the Kryptonians have moved their planet into the orbit of a yellow sun, so they could all be super-beings! Stay tuned!
More the fact that I have never read a story with her in it. She looks cool, that's about all I know about her.
@Bob Greenwade: Or maybe (as part of that metaversal reboot post-Doomwatch) the Earth-STF version of Superman is suddenly being flooded with memories that aren't entirely his own. Memories of something long-considered to have never happened; just an imaginary story.
What if he has remembered that a kryptonite-irradiated-but-cryostatically frozen Lara and Jor-El are STILL ALIVE?????
@Ross: I haven't either, though I'm looking for a way to change that. The Wikipedia article on her is sparse on information, but she sure does seem interesting.
