Chewbacca and The Fur Force (The Animated Series!)

For the return of these fur-covered crusaders, I thought that it might be interesting to see what a cartoon featuring them might be like.  I also added a new member.

Chewbacca and The Fur Force first appeared in STF #1258...

For fur-ty days and fur-ty nites they held their own again'all odds
and the oddest was them dar pairs that gave off them extreme heats and colds, The Temperature Twins!!
All dem split ends made it hard to aim right (or left). It was no wonder that all the heroes aims was a hair off all the time. But you had to give it to them... not once did the heros lose it, they never flipped their wigs.

I wouldn't believe that, it's all just hair-say!

How about, as a sequel, Tigra and Tygra going to Sesame Street in search of Wily Kit and Wily Kat? Or Tiger Girl (from Gold Key) teaming up with Tiger Boy (from Harvey)?

Oops! I almost forgot to comment on today's cover.*

A Saturday morning cartoon version of the Fur Force? That, I definitely would've tuned into watch during the Eighties. Although, I'm uncertain who would've aired it. Lucasfilm (owner of Chewbacca as intellectual property) was still a business associate of 20th Century Fox at the time and neither of them had yet been bought out by Disney. So, the Fox Network would naturally be my first guess.

*Some might call that a mixed blessing. ;-)

@Cary & Ross: I just thought of something! This would make a great conclusion to a trilogy that could've climaxed with yesterday's cover...and which could've begun with STF #1052 (copyright Mar. 2015).

Think about it. Mr. Mind (alias Rokur Gepta) telepathically brainwashes Lockjaw into stealing some samples of Terrigen Mist. He uses that and the Psyche-Magnetron to turn Silver Age Jimmy Olsen into a Hutt. Jimmy is then similarly brainwashed into capturing Supergirl and Medusa. Compelling the Fur Force to get involved...as Lockjaw's fellow Dogs of War have been unleashed against the new Lady Liberators (Scarlet Witch, Harley Quinn, and Asajj Ventress).

That's the DC Tasmanian Devil? He looks so different here than when he was in Justice League International!

A pity this Tasmanian Devil is DC. I'd love to see him paired with the Loony Tunes character, but that may have to be left to DC.

Ookla the Mok?

Having been a Ruby-Spears creation, pre-1991, it is officially part of the Warner Brothers Discovery audiovisual library (via the now-defunct Taft Broadcasting System being bought and assimilated by Ted Turner's corporate outfit).

I refer to the "Thundarr the Barbarian" series, of course.

There needs to be a role for Lt. M'Ress.... Perhaps her term with Starfleet has ended, and she's back in civilian life?

Maybe she could do a short stint with the Thundercats, instead.

Bob Greenwade said...

It would be great to see M'Ress appear here in some capacity. She can join this team or work with the Thundercats, as already suggested; or the Guardian of Forever could deposit her to where she's working with Tigra and/or fighting against Cheetah.

How about Tigra fighting alongside her Golden Age namesake (a Sheena clone also known as Princess Vishnu)?

What! No Rocket?

@Anon1031: according to the initial trailers for GOTG3, I think he's been rejuvenated back to babyhood. Perhaps by someone spinning the Dial of Destiny!*

*I've also seen trailers for "Indy Jones 5."
