Actually, my understanding is that Ms. Marvel's powers were altered (1) because Inhumans haven't been officially introduced to the MCU,* and (2) in order to be closer in effect to Captain Marvel's, for a sort of better unity in The Marvels.
As for this cover, I think it's great to see the Young Marvels together again. I hope it becomes an ongoing thing.
*At least, to the MCU's public. I'm still holding out some hope, however minuscule it may be, that the (in my opinion unfairly maligned) Inhumans TV show will be brought into the MCU canon.
I second @Bob's ongoing thing remark. Maybe a link to the Danvers twins?

Dave is right. Even Beppo the Super Monkey visiting the Planet of the Apes couldn't be a bigger hoot!
Beppo on the Planet of the Apes? That's almost as good as Swamp Thing vs. the Killer Tomatoes.
What a nice surprise! Only yesterday i looked to see if you had ever matched Ms. Marvel and Mary Marvel, then this cover appeared..
