J. Jonah Jameson Vs. Dennis the Menace
This oddball match up was comes from a suggestion by Mike Shirley and seconded by Bob Greenwade, both Patrons of this blog, and I thought it was crazy enough to give a shot. I remember reading Dennis the Menace when I was a boy and often taking the side of Mr. Wilson - I could see why he was annoyed by the kid! Then again, I've always been Team Tom, Wile E. and Sylvester rather than Team Jerry, Roadrunner and Tweety.

Only thing missing would have been seeing JJJ answering the door dressed as cosplay Superman. ROTF
Haha! Love it Ross!
I still enjoy the Dennis the Menace tv show, I share Mr Wilson's annoyance when Dennis is so loud, the show and comic strip work by allowing us to see Dennis is just a well-intentioned kid not trying to cause trouble. I can see JJJ having the same reactions without the calmer times Mr Wilson had. The comic books I've read were more travel stories, maybe future appearances Dennis could visit other universes or lands.
But, by that same logic, shouldn't you be Team JJJ, too?
WOW! Almost 500 issues since Dennis first appeared, here? That's too long a stretch! But, it was worth the wait. If only for the much-needed laugh this whimsical little depiction has provided me, this morning.
Thanks, Ross. :-)
Perfect match-up, Ross!
This is great! I must ask, however, when JJJ is dealing with Dennis, where is Mr. Wilson? I would say that he is taking a well deserved nap. Of course his personality has some similarity to JJJ. So, maybe the side story here is Mr. Wilson and [insert your Spidey villain(s) of choice] vs. Spiderman.
Delighted, for sure!
I'd still love to see JJJ taking Jim Gordon to task for using the Spider-Signal. I think it'd be a fun match-up even without the J. K. Simmons connection.
@Mickey: I'd just figure Jameson lives next door to the Mitchells on the other side from the Wilsons.
@Bob: What a neighborhood that would be!
I still remember when Dennis was the mascot for Dairy Queen years ago. Jameson is just jealous because he never got any product endorsements.
Considering the title is "Trading Menaces," my assumption would be that Mr. Wilson is suddenly having to deal with with being irritated by Spider-Man!
Ben W - Good point.
...or the dark haired British version also called Dennis the Menace who i don't believe has appeared here yet, Ross....
another well done mash-up of artwork....
you are the master masher, Ross....
another thought just surfaced on my brain....
is Mr. Wilson any relation to Wade Wilson????
hmmm?????
@Mickey: my choice would be Princess Python (with Mr. Wilson under nullatronic hypnosis). Row-rowr!
@Ben & Cary: Hey! That could work. The Circus of Crime is after something that was originally stolen by Howard "The Hijacker" Mitchell. But, prior to his alleged death at the Ohio Bar With No Name, he sent that stolen something to his cousin...Dennis Mitchell's father!
So, Dennis winds up being abducted after he's taken to the circus by a post-hypnotic Mr. Wilson.
Cover of the month!
