Deadman and Captain Marvel in: "Overtime... in the Afterlife!"

Long time STF visitors will know that his story serves as a direct continuation form STF #2181, and it looks like Boston Brand was not kidding about putting Mar-Vell to work. Mar-Vell sort of reminds me of Jack Knight from DC.  Despite their popularity, both characters have been allowed to maintain the powerful endings that were written for them - retirement and death, respectively.  That's a pretty rare thing in comics.

Ah! But, if Nielsen ratings made it necessary, would CW resurrect Jack Knight as Starman on an episode of STAR GIRL?

To my knowledge, that series hasn't even introduced the character of Jack Knight! Let alone, killed him off-just-to-bring-him-back-a-la-Bobby Ewing.

Mar-Vell with a sword? He looks like he should be paired with Ray Palmer during the corresponding period of the latter's career.

Really, though, this looks like part two of an exciting trilogy. Hopefully we won't have to wait until #5079 to see the ending!

PS: A couple of local cosplayers just posted some pictures of themselves as Steve Rogers and Damian Wayne, with the concept that Steve's come to Gotham for some reason and they're working together. I think that might be an idea worth pursuing here.

@Cary: You are correct; Ted's been referenced once (that I can recall) as the creator of the Staff, but Jack hasn't gotten that much.

I love it when I can recognize the original comic lol
I remember getting that issue of Silver Surfer off the rack!

Their attackers are so zombie-ish looking, I keep expecting Evil Ernie to make an uncredited cameo!

Love the Ron Lim art for Mar Vell.

Also, a suggestion, could you do a team up with John Constantine and the Scooby gang?

Or Blade vs. Jade (Queen of Vampires)?

Blade doing a raid on Jade would have it made in the shade. (I could go on, but you get the idea.)

Another possibility: Alan Scott's daughter vs. the Queen of Vampires.

Nah! We don't want to get 2 "Jaded."
