The Teen Titans and The Hulk

This cover was a tough one to create, but I was happy with the way it came together.  I am also happy to be able to feature Donna Troy and Wally West in their classic outfits... these two got swept to the side with the new DC reboot and have not been seen in a while.  As they both have a lot of fans, I am sure it is only a matter of time before we see the New 52 DCU versions of these characters showing up, though.  It will be interesting to see what angle DC takes with them.

This past week, I've been working on art which sometimes involves stitching multiple complicated scenes together. First thing I thought when I saw this cover, all the wood chips flying, was, man! that probably took some work. Then I read your comment. Ha! I sympathize! Nice work.

This is one of those "what the heck" pairings -- two characters (or, in this case, a character and a group) without any special synchronicity or contrast, but who just seem to work for a particular story. Nicely done.

I've been thinking for a while about a couple of covers that I'd like to see with Ultimate Spider-Man, and one of them is with the Teen Titans (in a more recent incarnation, of course).

The other Ultimate Spidey team-up I'd like to see is with Cutey Honey (I've been thinking about the possibilities there since he first met that universe's Jean Grey).

Dave sez,

Awww, yeah - Teen Titans! This would have to be the early years of The Hulk so's Rick Jones and the Teen Brigade could make a cameo...

That Hulk must be from early 1979 (I seem to remember a 35¢ price on it) and I'm guessing the Titans are from the 1976-1978 revival. If there had been an amenable Hulk image from a few years earlier they might have been linked by Ernie Chan.

Awwww..... No Beast Boy/Changeling? I'd like to see the two green guys together.

Unexpected team up, but I can imagine the Titans going after the Hulk for some sort of aid reason, much like Silver Age Fantastic Four or Avengers searched for the Hulk. The difference here is that the Hulk found them, so this cover could be a part two. Imagine how a part one would look!

Nicely done! It may have been a lot of work, but it came together nicely.

Very nicely done! I recognize the Robin and Speedy poses from one cover and the Kid Flash and Wonder Girl poses from something else...so you must have done double the work! Appreciated!!
