The Huntress and Man-Thing
I really liked the pre-Crisis version of The Huntress due to the fact that she wasn't just an alternate-Earth version of Batgirl, she was the daughter of Batman and Catwoman. That was a very cool lineage ripe with possibilities, and it was a shame to lose it when she was reimagined as Helena Bertinelli. It seems as though in the New 52 that Huntress is indeed Helena Wayne again, and only adopted the Bertinelli identity. I'm not sure if her mother is still Catwoman in the new continuity, but this is a step in the right direction.

This is another one of those offbeat team-ups that could be generated by a really good story -- and this cover makes me want to read it, even though I've never been a big fan of either of these characters. (I don't dislike them, actually; they just never resonated with me the way certain other characters have.)
Here's one you could try out: the Tangent Universe Green Lantern has the ability to bring someone back from the dead so that person can settle unfinished business. What if Mar-Vell was such a person?
Tangent characters, like Amalgam characters are tough because they only appeared once or twice and there's not much material to choose images from. Mar Vell will definitely return though!
