Superman Vs. The Super-Adaptoid in: "Super-Sized Smackdown!"

As a kid with a limited budget, I gravitated towards team and team up books.  I liked getting a lot of characters for my hard earned dimes.  So a villain like the Super-Adaptoid was always a treat to see.  He was like an entire team unto himself and I loved his look that combined all of the heroes whose powers he possessed.

Superman first faced the Super-Adaptoid in STF #3529

Amazo gets the weaknesses along with the strengths of his victims. Will the S.A. be similar? And if Superman used magic (ironic) to fight back what would the Adaptoid do?
Or if Supes used nanites to depower the android??
Nice cover.Very nice.

Way to go, Ross! :-)

The perfect way to complete a trilogy begun with STF #2846 and continued in STF #3529.

Adaptoid, Amazo, and Composite Superman vs the LSH, JL, and Avengers. What a great 2 or 3 issue miniseries.

A fascinating tetralogy would be if Thor's battle against Amazo and Superman's two run-ins with the Adaptoid were part of some internecine* rivalry within the Totalitarians.

*Always wanted to use that word!

Regarding all the adapters....does Odin's spell still work ..that to use the power of Thor, one must be worthy? If so, those beings could find themselves in trouble.

@Phylo97: As Cary implied, all three of those villains are part of The Totalitarians, along with Mimic (X-Men) and Super-Skrull (Fantastic Four). A multi-issue epic with each of them taking on the most powerful member of another's team (such as seen here) in turn, culminating in a giant team showdown, might make for an interesting project (or at least a 100-page Giant).

@Tobor: Just as a guess (since I'm not familiar with the character), I'd assume that the Super-Adaptoid only duplicates Thor's other powers, or at most carries a replica of Mjolnir.

Bob brings up an interesting point. A big smack-down like that would be a worthy spectacular for STF #4050. Which--if my math is correct-- is due out May 16!

And throw obscure JLA foe "Super-Duper" into the mix.

@Anon@10:20: It's too soon for that (though it would be cool, since the six-part epic would then start on 11 May, my birthday). More likely it would come about in #4100, or leading into #4150.
