The Disney+ X-Men '97 animated series keeps getting pushed back, but I am interested to see how it turns out. Will it take right after the original cartoon left off, or will a few years have passed? Will they be sticking closely to the original designs and look? The first series followed the comics pretty closely, so I expect that this follow up will continue along that path.

They are the Wonder Twins, and not from Vulcan.She changes to an animal and he changes to a water form, and they are brother and sister.
Rare to see Logan asking for a non-lethal solution, but given who it is, not surprising. And, yes, they just might find a way to talk to that "Strange life form" in a quiet, benign manner. Nice.
I vaguely recall you once talking about doing an amalgam of these two cartoon teams. Due to how they used to charge their enemies in the opening credits of their respective shows. JLA vs. Legion of Doom and X-men vs. Magneto's Brotherhood of Mutants.

My understanding has been from the start that the plan for X-Men '97 will pick up where the old one left off, and that they'll be sticking to the original look -- and even bringing back as much of the voice cast as they can get.
With the revival coming, I decided last year to watch the old show on Disney+. I spent most of the first six episodes in a state of constantly cringing at the dialogue, but the quality improved considerably after that, and the plotting was never bad. And a bit of trivia: the character Morph, who was original to the show, later inspired the character by that name in Exiles.
From the Department of Of Course An Aspie Would Notice: it's clear that Logan's showing the Super Friends a recording, since he's on the screen himself, and wearing a different outfit at that.

Actually, Bob, as I understand it, Morph was inspired by a mutant character known as "The Changeling." A plot device that Marvel used to bring Professor X back from the dead in the late 1960's/early 1970's.
Apparently, the real Xavier had gone into seclusion in order to telepathically link everyone on Earth, subconsciously, as part of some kind of massive preparation for an attempted invasion by an alien race called the Z'nox. So, it was the Changeling--impersonating Xavier--who wound up being killed by the Subterranean renegade called Gortok (alias "Grotesk") out to avenge the deaths of his people from American underground nuclear tests!

@Ross: Ah! Yes, you're right; that's Hank. I was thrown by the similar hairstyles.
@Anon@12:20: I'd forgotten about that as well. In fact, it's for this reason that a Morph/Beast Boy team-up would be interesting here, since they both also share the name of Changeling. (One could even toss Odo into the mix!)

Team 1 = Batman/Robin vs Wolverine/Gambit
Team 2 = Aquaman/Zan/Jayna vs Rogue (she would get his 1 hour time limit weakness)/Storm/Beast
Team 3 = Superman/Wonder Woman vs Phoenix/Cyclops (She could repel his blasts with her bracelets)
I look forward to the day when Ross can depict Rogue vs. Rouge.* Tentative title?
