BunnyBunch!

I've been getting requests for a bunny based super group pretty much since I started creating teams for STF.  I finally got around to it, and since rabbits are known for multiplying, this is easily my largest team to date.  At 10 members, they are a pretty powerful force - but I'm sure some people will still be  saying, "Hey, where's Thumper?" or something. Oh well, I hope that your favorite made the cut!

Somehow I feel the Inferior 5ives's DB would've been a fine fit for this minagarie. Not gonna say she's cancelled because she's a woman and human, but ...

I know Hoppy and Rodney must both be disappointed that Wonder Wabbit didn't maker the cut; they both had a thing for her in the Oz-Wonderland Wars.

YES! YES!! YES!!! :-D

Thank you, Ross. You've made this lagomorphic lover's dreams come true.

And I agree. A lot of people are no doubt thinking along the lines of "What? No Jaxxon from STAR WARS?!" right about now. But, not only was he a Bugs Bunny analog created expressly for a Magnificent Seven pastiche during Marvel's original SW run. He was probably also the inspiration for Bucky O'Hare! And they're already properly represented here. So what else can I say except "It ain't easy being green." And, again, thank you...for making my day.

I have to--reluctantly!--agree with Carycomic.

Bucky O'Hare's comic debut was in "Echo of Futurepast" #1 (July 1, 1984). Jaxxon debuted in Marvel's "Star Wars" (v.1) #8 in 1978.

P.S. @ your security chief: I am not a rabbit. ;-)

With a group that large, you know it's going to be a case of
Hare today, Gone tomorrow!

Ken Roskos said...

Aww! The only one I would add is the White Rabbit from Alice in Wonderland. Or maybe Crusader Rabbit. But even together, can they stand up to the terror that is... Elmyra from Tiny Toons? I won't even mention Donnie Darko. That would be a Watership Down-er.

Carycomic said...

@Detective Tobor: funny you should mention that. I vaguely remember a D&D character who was referred to as Clipper the (ahem!) Harengon.

@Ken Roskos: it could be worse. Imagine Elmer Fudd dressed up as a puffy-sleeved Wabbit Hunter!

P.S. @ your security chief: I'm not a rabbit, either.

@Carycomic - Ooch! Or Ralphie in his bunny suit from A Christmas Story.

i can only imagine what or who they are up against, but there a lot of Wolf characters out there…. roast pig anyone…
Yankee poodle will probably be amongst their rescuer’s when they mess up….

I'd have had Lola instead of Bugs, for my own selfish reasons. But other than that, great team!

You hit all the major points, Ross, and that's what's important. Of those mentioned in the comments, I would only have added Jaxxon (despite what's been discussed about him); with Quicky (a big surprise to me!) I might've put in the Trix Rabbit; and I truly miss seeing Harecules Hare with his Guided Muscle; but really I have no complaints here.

And Roger may regret standing next to Hulkbunny....

From the Department of Unimportant Trivia: There actually is a difference between a rabbit and a hare. I'm pretty sure all of these guys are rabbits (except maybe Bucky), and I'm pretty sure the only one who would care about the distinction is Judy. Bugs, of course, would just dismiss the matter since he seems to be "species-fluid."

Phenomenal recall here group! The only other star I can add would be Bunny Rabbit from Captain Kangaroo.

@Bob Greenwade: maybe Jaxxon didn't make it because he turned left, instead of right, @ Albuquerque, New Mexico. ;-)

Anonymous said...

@Ken R: BR was probably at a Moose Lodge meeting. ;-)

Carycomic said...

@Anon212: either that, or a ping-pong tournament (cheering on his "deer" old friend).

Ken R. said...

Anon 2:12: That may be. I'll hold out one more carrot: I just remembered "Bing Bing Bing" - Ricochet Rabbit!

Anonymous said...

Br'er Rabbit must not have been able to make it because he prefers not to leave his Happy Place.

Ken R. said...

It is the Year of the Rabbit, Doc.

@Bob Greenwade: I think the one serious difference between rabbits and hares is that hares (occasionally known in the USA as "jackrabbits") are supposed to have longer legs and ears than true rabbits.

Bob Greenwade said...

@Anon@9:00: Rabbits are social creatures, while hares tend to be solitary. Rabbits live in underground tunnels, while hares stay above ground. Hares are also somewhat larger than rabbits. There are a few other things as well, but that's what I remember offhand.

(The differences are a plot point in a play I wrote a while back.)

Don't forget their hq, The Rabbit Hutch.

What no Honey Bunny who is the most famous female bunny evah (Bugs Bunny's galpal?!?)

EPIC FAIL.

I also recall Hoppy had his galpal pop up in his DCCP return in the early 80s & she should've been included as well.

Honey Bunny was just a Flash(point) in the pan.

;-D

Bob Greenwade said...

I'm sure that, somewhere in this story, we'd also get a cameo from the Energizer Bunny.

It is amazing how much subtle influence rabbits have had on our culture and mythology, even to this day. Maybe this is Lennie's dream from "Of Mice and Men". ;)

"Duh, if you say, George." ;-)

Ken R. said...

@Anon 8:22 - Now I'm hopping mad! ;)

Rock-hopping mad?* ;-D

*See the rockhopper is a penguin. And Burgess Meredith played George in the first film adaptation of...

What?! No Q.T. Bunny?

Carycomic said...

@Anon240: I think you meant "Q.T. O'Hare."

Anonymous said...

@Carycomic: Nope! Kelly O'Hare was her civilian identity. Q.T. Bunny was her nom de combattre le crime.

Ken R. said...

I remember Q.T. Bunny, Tales of the Jackalope, and a Rockhopper comic from years ago. Fun stuff!

I know I shouldn't keep poking this bear, but maybe the reason why Lola, Jessica and the others aren't present is because they've been kidnapped by Bellwether, Cottontail Smith, and Judge Doom. Judge Doom could have been resurrected from an old acetate cel, or film negative stored away somewhere. Maybe by the talking carrot-man from the original Lost in Space show, for some nefarious purpose.

Carycomic said...

Or maybe the Condiment King wants some hassenpfeffer as the main course for his supper.

I still think this group should have been named the Hare Force.
