Sub-Mariner Vs. The Metal Men

There was mention of a Metal Men movie in the works a while back, but I would be shocked if that was not one of the many DC in-development projects scrapped as a result of the change in leadership at Warner Bros./Discovery.  Still, I hope they do eventually make it to the big screen.  Perhaps a Pixar-type CGI movie would be the way to go with Doc Magnus' team of robots.

Good Lord! The Sub-mariner is wearing orange armor?! Can an outrageous prosthetic trident be far behind?

@Anon: In other words, this is another "subtle" jibe against Aquaman's Capt. Hook phase?

No way Metal Men could be live action, but as a cartoon...............

While Ross Andru is the "classic" Metal Men artist. I LOVED Walt Simonson's version. Thanks for using his art and not your namesake's, Ross.

Three things:

1) Since Namor's always shouting "Imperious Rex!", shouldn't the issue title be "Upward Nobility"? LOL

2) Subby, really? Bro, who brings a shark to a robot fight?

3) All that salt water? Iron is going to be none too happy at the end of the day..."Imperius Rust?"

(I misspelled Imperius in comment #1.)

With the recent advances in CGI and PerCap, I think a Metal Men movie would be an impressive spectacle. With the troubles that DC's been having with Ezra Miller and She Who Must Not Be Named, though, I think they'd do well to just finish the Wonder Woman trilogy, play out the Shazam! franchise, maybe do one more film for Aquaman and/or the Suicide Squad (each), and scrap the rest of the DCEU, then find their Feige figure and start over from scratch.

As to Namor, this is arguably the silliest outfit I've seen on him, and arguably the most ridiculous armor I've seen on any character. He's girded up his arms and legs, but left his head and torso open? Protect the limbs, but leave the vital organs exposed? Who does that???

And I like Reg's "Upward Nobility" title; I hope you can use it some time, though it's now been spoiled for Namor. Maybe Doctor Doom and Geo-Force* can be forced to work together to escape a trap that's rocketing them into space.

*Yes, I know they've met before. This can be an extension of that story.

I just finished reading Marvel Masterworks: The Sub-Mariner, Volume 2 (and as an old-timer, I've read and reread the stories included so many times, but still thrill to a good ol' Namor adventure). The Sub-Mariner is best in his green Speedo and gold bracelets. All the other costumes are an insult to the Prince of the Blood. With his nigh-impenetrable skin, Namor doesn't need armor. (Other than IronMan, really what hero does? I am not a fan of armoring all the super-heroes.)
Imperius Rex!

P.S. @ RegAubry: maybe these particular sharks have an Iron defienency?

I guess I'm the only one here who actually enjoyed and loved Aquaman having the beard and hook. Maybe it's because that's when I was glowing up, being born in 1985, but yeah, that's my Aquaman! I still have a figurine of him in that look!

As Dr. Lucy Van Pelt might say: "Recognizing you have a problem is half the battle!"

@Anon1157: Lol! I think you meant to say..."iron deficiency"?

Who is “She Who Must Not Be Named?”

The female lead in "Aquaman."

Oh! For a moment, I thought you were referring to Tin's wife.

Other Bob is quite correct. I don't see any sense in giving any "search engine boost" to a pathological narcissist.

@Bob G: Well, now, you could be talking about Mercury!
