Commissioner Gordon and J. Jonah Jameson

I thought that it was time that two of comics' most enduring supporting characters shared a cover.  I like in comics when we are reminded that it's not always up to the heroes to come to the rescue - sometimes the non-powered, un-costumed folks have to jump into the fray as well.  As Aunt May said in Spider-Man 2, "I believe there's a hero in all of us."

....and they were both played by J. K. Simmons in the films.....
which would have made a great photo cover, Ross....
and you could have thrown in the yellow M&M for good measure....

It's like a weird version of his Couterpart TV series...

I could easily picture this as being the result of Lexcorp merging with Roxxon to become Lexxon. Just so Luthor could use the resources of the Nth Command to get rid of even the non-supers among the costumed heroes!

Good job, Ross. :-)

I don't think I've ever seen J Jonah Jameson in action! Must have come sometime after my few years of reading Spider-Man comics! I think Perry White may have been a better match, given he and JJJ seemed to be really grumpy bosses all the time! But I don't think Gordon or White ever had JJJ's anti-heroes view!

Paul, Jonah and Perry met way back in STF #301: https://braveandboldlost.blogspot.com/2013/02/j-jonah-jameson-vs-perry-white.html

Cool one Ross! Now that the Commissioner and J.J.J. have made a connection, maybe Spidey's old boss will make an appearance at the Gordon family reunion. It would be good to see Flash, Batgirl and the whole Gordon clan together. Even Perry White would be welcome. And with Jameson on board, you could even have Man-wolf show up! Just askin'.

Special guest appearance by Ben Urich?

Perry White had a number of action appearances on Action/Superman covers. I wonder if a team up with JJJ might not be fun.

How about Anti-Batman and Anti-Superman teaming up with Spider-Slayer 1.0 as... "The Underworld's Finest!"

@Carycomic: that might present a problem for Ross. As Spidey and the Mark One Slayer (from ASM v.1/#25) would probably have to go to the left of Anti-Superman (from WF v.1/#159). And I don't think he has enough room for all three image captures!

With J. K. Simmons in a double role! (As jack-el pointed out, and as I've suggested more than once.) But in a non-photo cover, I think it'd be interesting to see these two share a cover with Omni-Man (Invincible). My full idea, really, is something that might need commissioned art: Gordon has activated the Spider-Signal, which Jameson is chewing him out for, because Omni-Man needs help returning Tenzin (The Legend of Korra) to his own world. Easter eggs for M&Ms, Farmers Insurance, and other projects could be snuck in as well.

Speaking of M&Ms Easter Eggs, everyone: I watched Spider-Man: No Way Home twice, and the ending credits mention the M&Ms trademark, but I couldn't catch the reference in the actual film. Has anyone else here done so?

Nope! Can't say as I did.

P.S.@ Badger58: only, not as male. ;-)

@Anon938: you mean, that show was considered too misogynistic?

@Carycomic: more like an overly macho rip-off of "Fringe."

I can't imagine JJJ really teaming up with Gordon who supports a vigilante in a mask, but this made for an excellent cover all the same!

@my namesake: Maybe Psycho-Pirate was rehearsing what he planned to do with PG and Shulkie. You know; to see if mind-controlling two such polar opposite personalities, at the same time, was possible.
