I've been looking for more Star Trek content to watch, but the new shows on Paramount+ have not really grabbed me. I did find a great substitute though - The Orville: New Horizons on Hulu. I enjoyed The Orville when it appeared on Fox a few years back, but this new iteration of the series is even better. The cast is largely the same, but there are three big differences: Longer episodes, a clearly bigger budget and the humor is dialed way down, making it more of a straight sci fi show. I highly recommend it.

I am enjoying the new Star Trek series.
The best - by far - is Lower Decks, which is funny, witty and with tons of references to TOS, TNG and more.
The first season of Discovery was very good IMHO. the second season was very weak, but the third took a great leap and improved the forth season was not bad, but not great.
Strange New Worlds is very reminiscent of the first season of TNG - learning the characters and building towards the future.
The Orville is indeed a lot of fun, though the current season is, in my opinion, weaker than the previous though still worth the time.
For my money, Strange New Worlds is some of the best Trek, and best space opera TV in quite a while, equalled only by Orville, New Horizons. Thoroughly enjoyed both.
My favorite space-opera spoof was the one-season wonder called "Quark," starring Richard Benjamin in the title role. Namely, a two-fisted spacefaring garbageman.
Have you checked out the amazing world of Star Trek fan films?

(and "Quark" was way fun!)
@Anon 257: what Richard said. :-)
Ironic. The Orville was suppose to be a tribute to S T NG, but with humor since its creator, MacFarlane, is a S. T. fan as well.
Oh well. Have to return to the lower decks. This area is scheduled to go Nova in a few days.
