The Flash and The Invaders in: "Blasted... by the Blue Bullet!"

I'm very happy to hear that John Wesley-Shipp will be reprising his role as the Original Flash in the upcoming season of Stargirl.  He's great in the role and still lo0ks perfect in the suit.

Jay Garrick previously met The Invaders with the rest of the JSA in STF #272 and with Barry Allen in STF #135...

That's an Ernie Chan Flash on the cover, one of my favorite Bronze Age artists.  One of the few color pieces in my original art collections is by him:

A pre Iron Man styled Moustache Twirler. Wow. going after someone still working high up in the government, or a love one of theirs, going by the setting. nicely put.

Jay looks just a tad overly gray for that time period.. but great to see him again.

How about an out of uniform Steve Rogers saving the life of Steve Trevor? Ironic.

Maybe Blue Bullet could team with the Missile Men of the Metal Men?

@D. Tobor: I'd say it's Peggy Carter convalescing at that hospital. With the future Joan Garrick volunteering there as a nurse. Hence, the Golden Age Flash being there to visit her while she's (hopefully) off-duty!

As for that sample of Mr. Chan's art work? Awesome! :-D

Jay actually might've been a welcome addition to the Invaders, having a power none of the others can duplicate.

And for my money, John Wesley Shipp looks better in his Jay Garrick outfit than he ever did as Barry Allen.

Just for funzies, maybe some time in the future we can see the Blue Bullet fighting the Blue Bulleteer (from AC Comics). I'd never heard of either character before this morning, but the name similarity is just too perfect!

Golden Age Flash is a good replacement for the Wizzer with the invaders. Maybe the Golden Age Wonder Woman can replace Miss America in sequel.

I'd settle for Bob Franks visiting the Land of Yellow Brick Roads in...THE WHIZZER OF OZ!

Cary's pun is so brilliant, the only bad thing I can think about it is that I didn't come up with it first. Ross, I enthusiastically second the suggestion.

i concur with the Whizzer of Oz idea.....
but don't eat the yellow bricks.....

Maybe the yellow of the bricks is a very special coating...maybe even by accident.

@Tobor: With a code-name like "Whizzer," what else could it be.

@Anon, mind your P's and Q's. 8)

I'd rather mind the IOU's. They're worth more!

del_Tobor beat me to it, but I came here to comment that Jay shouldn't be gray if this is set in WWII. Perhaps it's Jay from the future, having borrowed Barry's cosmic treadmill? In which case, why is he in a neonatal ward? Is he trying to prevent some specific baby from being stolen or perhaps switched with another? Could this perhaps be the orphanage where Ma and Pa Kent dropped baby Kal-L, before they adopted him? (That only works if this isn't Earth II.) Perhaps a follow-up cover is needed!

I remember a JSA story where Dr. Fate-foe Ian Karkull managed to keep a future POTUS from living to take office. Maybe with all the multiversal ret-cons, since then, the anonymous child in question was not instantly killed by a falling branch. Maybe he's merely in a coma! And future-Jay is there to keep someone from finishing the job.

The question, now, is...who is that comatose kid? The first candidate that springs to my mind: James Norcross (of Depatie-Freleng fame).

That's what this country needs right now.

"SUPERRRRRRRRRR PRESIDENT!"

I'd vote for Super Chicken, myself.

@Horsefeathers: Just imagine his campaign slogan.

"The Bok-bok stops here."

Re: The Whizzer --

If he was teamed up with the Care Bears, then he could be "The Whizzer of Awwwwws!"

Team up the Whizzer and Jedi Master Yoda, and you'd have...Franks and Oz!
