Watching Saturday morning cartoons was a treasured time for me as a kid. In addition to all of the colorful characters I saw, it was also a rare moment of solitude for me during the week. I was the second youngest of seven children, so I was always in the midst of a crowd at home. On some Saturdays, I would be able to get up before everyone else and have an hour or two just to myself. Alone time was a precious commodity to me in those days!

Yep! Saturday morning cartoons always made me a kid-at-heart again, too. But, sadly, for reasons too numerous to specify, here, they have gone the way of the dinosaur.*

*Although, ironically, one contributing factor was the mixed blessing of syndicated first-run cartoon shows, Mondays-Fridays.
Personally, Cary, I think televised awards shows are headed in the same direction. Anyone else literally not lose any sleep over totally ignoring this year's Oscar telecast?

I, too, miss seeing major-network cartoons on Saturday morning; I continued until it was no longer A Thing. It's how I was exposed to two of the most underappreciated cartoons of the 1990s, Road Rovers and Captain Simian and the Space Monkeys.
Each of these panels has at least one cartoon that I watched at least semi-regularly when it was on. Only Darkwing Duck vs. The Joker is a pair where I was a major fan; Darkwing even had his Joker counterpart in Quackerjack (who might be positioned to join the Joker's Wild, now that I think of it). The least exciting for me is the main attraction, Teen Titans and Ben 10; I tried the former, and it gave me a headache, and while my wife and our best friend loved Ben 10 I never was able to really get into it. I've been thinking of giving it another shot, though, if I can find it on one of my streaming services.
But say, wasn't Apache Chief vs. Galactus someone's suggestion? (Not mine; I just seem to recall someone mentioning it at some point.)
@Anon@8:21: I've been losing interest since they went to the "no-host" format. Many times the show was made to shine by the likes of Steve Martin, Ellen DeGeneres, Whoopi Goldberg, or Billy Crystal. I'm not that much of a movie buff, but I definitely would've tuned in for one of those four, and I can think of a few others (such as Tiffany Haddish) who would've been just as much of a draw.
Love it! The late great Dwayne McDuffie wrote for both the Teen Titans toon and Ben 10. It would have been great to see this on the small screen. Though Raven and Ben would end up meeting in an episode of OK KO
@BigMike: I thought sure the only way those two could ever meet would be as "claymation" opponents on CELEBRITY DEATH MATCH.
Darkwing Duck vs Joker quacked me up!
I really do not thing the Joker could do against him and like Batman said from Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker the Joker has no sense of humor.
Terry McGinnis: Get a clue, clowny! He's got no sense of humor! He wouldn't know a good joke if it bit him in the cape... not that you ever had a good joke.
The Joker: Shut up... shut up!

Liked the original Ben 10. Not much of the follow ups.
Dynomutt and Iron Man? Thought you didn't like the extra obvious Ross? Now Dynomutt and Spider-man? Could be.
Fun all around tho. Maybe a round of mini golf too?

I have to agree with Ken. Back when they teamed up with Batman, the first time, the TMNT were puzzled why the Bat-computer had so many files devoted to "this clown guy."
That kind of under-estimation would've led to the Joker and Harley Quinn enjoying four courses of ninja turtle soup!
As to Dynomutt teaming with Iron Man? I see no harm with that kind of comic relief interlude. So, long as it was one-shot, only!

Yes! We need more cartoon crossovers, and not all of them have to from Saturday morning. How about a team up between M.A.S.K. and Spider-Man when he had his spider buggy?
@my namesake: considering how their arch-enemy went by the acronym V.E.N.O.M., I would deem that an appropriate team-up.
