Fire and Sunspot

Sunspot is one of the coolest looking mutants.  His design when powered up is simple yet very effective - a solid black center with no highlights surrounded by an aura of crackling energy.  You can really get a sense of his power just by looking at him.

Fire and Sunspot were first revealed to be siblings in STF #2484...

Da Costas living is going up as the price of bullets is going down.

No chance of reign as some green sunspots mix with sounds of rolling thunder.
When they tried to put out the Fire they were met with Black Lightning.
The pair making up the Raging Storm team ended the battle before the criminals could do anything of value.

If those gunmen are Hydra goons, they're going to learn, real fast, "Dacosta" underestimating super-powered enemies.

Brazil... where the nuts come from.

Fun cover as usual, Ross.

Sunspot has always been a favorite (though Cannonball is still #1 from the New Mutants in my book). And yes - his powered form is the best! Mutants who change appearance (Colossus, Iceman, Sunspot, etc...) are usually my favorites.

Dear Ross: I know one family reunion you have yet to portray. Kurt "Nightcrawler" Wagner and his long-lost sister Jakita (of Planetary fame)!

Hi Ross, how about revealing some other hitherto unknown siblings like:
Kent (Dr Fate) Nelson and his sister Greer (Tigra) Nelson and possibly their cousin Foggy?,
Sam (Falcon) Wilson and his brother Slade (Deathstroke) Wilson, and finally,
Dan (Blue Beetle) Garrett and his brother Nathan (the original Black Knight) Garrett.

Olá Ross, obrigado por nos proporcionar esse encontro de heróis brasileiros!
O Brasil poderia ser a fonte de criação para muitos outros heróis, tanto na Marvel como na DC, quanto em outras editoras dos EUA, mas tudo bem! Valeu! Parabéns pelo excelente e original trabalho!

Hello Ross, thank you for providing us this meeting of Brazilian heroes!
Brazil could be the source of creation for many other heroes, both in Marvel and DC, and in other U.S. publishers, but all right! Thanks! Congratulations for the excellent and original work!

Really? Way to go Ross! Had no idea you are known around the world. How many countries have you heard from? :-0

Haven't kept track of that, but the blog is worldwide on the internet so I've heard from folks near and far.

@BJ: Nelson was actually the last name of Tigra's ex-husband, Bill. She was born Greer Grant! Which would make Ted "Wildcat" Grant a more logical choice for long-lost relative. On the other hand, if you want to stick with the Nelson family tree, why not a story that explains how the Golden Age Manhunter was actually Bill Nelson's paternal grandfather?* Making Doc Fate his great-uncle!

*Seeing as how "Paul Kirk" was actually born...Rick Nelson.

Great cover once again!! Any chance of a Midnighter / Daredevil or Midnighter / Spider-Man team up??

Or maybe even Midnighter appearing in a Batman-oriented sequel to STF# 359!

@Tony and Anony: I second both motions. :-)
