Shazzan and The Thing

I remember seeing The Fantastic Four sharing the opening credits with Shazzan and other characters on Hanna Barbera's World of Super Adventure, and wishing that they could actually cross over with them in one of the actual cartoons.  The above pairing would have been at the top of my list to see - but just what do you think Ben Grimm would make a wish for?

to become human

Or to become the human requited love interest of Betty Harkness.

Hey, Ross, is that picture of Ben from a comic or the old cartoons? That resembles the version that shared a spot with the Flintstones back in the early 80’s. On another note, maybe he should share an adventure with Nick Burkhart. After all, they are both.Grimms. LOL

Come to think of it? Just imagine if Stan Lee had done this as a story for "Future Quest"! Lovelorn teenager Ben Grimm finds out the Thing Rings used to belong to a pair of fraternal twins who went missing off the coast of Maine in 1967. Betty Harkness' tomboyish younger sister tells him their Great-Aunt Agatha might have more info on that. Ben goes to see her...and the rest is re-enacted history!

From the cartoons, Mickey.

To become human or The Thing at will. Imagine Jonny Storm always on fire needing to wear a suit of unstable molecules to sit or lie down.

Now I'm reminded of that weird mandela effect story about Shaquille O'Neal and Sinbad doing genie movies, but only one of the movies was real. I don't remember the details, because I never experienced the phenomenon first-hand. But this just reminded me of that.

I could see Dr. Doom doing the old Silver Surfer gem of trying to steal Shazzan's power. But it'd have especially been cool to see in an episode some FF villain (Doom? Diablo?) try to get rid of the team by splitting them up and sending them each to a different H-B show setting. Who knows, maybe the same people who did a good job with Star Trek TAS/Transformers could give a Hanna-Barbera FF crossover a go.

To get rid of Herbie in favor of Johnny Storm.
