Wonder Woman and Professor X

Wonder Woman was born with her abilities, far beyond those even of the mighty Amazons.  Would that make her a mutant, or does the fact that she was made from clay preclude that?  Perhaps The Sentinels are on Themyscira for another reason?  I'd have to at least flip through this one at the comics' rack.

Whatever the reason for their presence on Themyscira, this is indisputably the best action-oriented cover you've posted in 2024! At least as far as I'm permanently concerned. :-)

Unless I missed a retcon origin didn't the gods & goddesses appear after she was animated from clay to bestow their abilities = strength, speed, wisdom & beauty on the infant Diana? I don't see how that would make her a mutant since she wasn't born with those abilities.

Maybe she is helping out Global Guardian mutant the Little Mermaid from those Sentinels in the area. It was said in more than 1 book that every hero on Earth is a member of the Global Guardian team (if needed).

^ Perhaps with the Sentinels discovering no mutants on paradise Island they started searching the nearby waters. Prof. X could've been in telepathic contact with the Little Mermaid (as she had that ability as well) & conveyed her concerns to Diana who was on the island at the time.

We need a Marvel Girl vs Wonder Woman vs Super Gran.

Maybe Maxwell Lord made a deal with Bolivar Trask to send the Sentinels to wipe out the Amazons in exchange for the OMACs wiping out mutantkind.

This is a very intriguing cover.. as already mentioned, Diana is not a mutant, but someone else in the group could be. Be ironic if someone with a mild mutant ability were being hunted by the Sentinels while Diana goes about destroying them as a non mutant. Diana & Charles could make an intriguing team. And I'm sure Steve would give each a great character reference to the other.

Just because Wonder Woman isn’t a mutant she is not necessarily human and also mutants may be in Paradise Island’s population 🤔 .

And here I was going to suggest a Different Justice Leaguer fighting an invasion of his home: Cobra attacks Atlantis in the Battle of 'Fish! I Command!'

Aren't we all forgetting that the clay statue origin is now regarded as BS concocted by Zeus to protect Diana from Hera-ssment?

The clay statue was for a different earth 1. Now Diana is half Earthling and half where ever Zeus comes from. An alien god like being.

Exactly! A demi-deity just like Hercules. Hence, the protective alibi featuring the "magical" Grecian clay.

Maybe the Amazons are cross-training Kamala "Ms. Marvel" Khan (whose part-Inhuman heritage temporarily suppressed her X-gene).

Or it could even be Luna Maximoff, teaching some of her Uncle Karnak's kung fu to the Amazons!

Guest-starring a mind-controlled Abe Vigoda? ;-)
