The Spectre and Young Hellboy

The adventures of Superman when he was a boy may have been retconned away, but I am glad that Hellboy's history has stayed intact at least.  It's cool to see the younger version of the BPRD's most famous member.  The Spectre was able to work well with others in his first few years as a hero, so I can see this team up happening.

Wow! You posted this one pretty early in the US morning. I see my recent requests for Reddy (with Morbius) & the Spectre (also with Morbius) have been given some other team up partners in the grand scheme of things. I still like how your mind works many years after your blog's debut. Also getting rid of Superboy's history was one of the 10 dumbest things DC has ever done in my opinion.

I agree it was dumb to remove all of the history but like some of the Brave & Bold episodes there was too much contradiction.

I have the constant revamping especially by new writers who are not only titles very long and when they are gone they make it more difficult for next writers.

JSA was a good example - Lots of character development then Earth 2 rewrite and now many of the characters are unrecognizable.

It's called "George Lucas Syndrome," boys. The compulsion to fix what isn't even broken!* But, otherwise, I echo your sentiments re: this morning's cover. Just one question, though. Is that Thori of the Pet Avengers accompanying the Spectre and Young HB?

*Can you say "Not-so-special 1997 edition of the original STAR WARS trilogy?"

The ending of Doomsday Clock re-established Superboy within Superman's backstory, though I'm not sure if anything has been done with that.
